I thought it already passed the House. The Senate is where it usually dies. I haven't been keeping up with it, has it passed in the Senate?

2 separate bills made it through the House and Senate. In order to become law, one of those bills has to make it through the other chamber, then get signed by the governor. The bill that was previously passed on the Senate floor has now made it through a House committee, so it needs to pass on the House floor and go to the governor. The bill that previously passed the House is still in committee in the Senate, but it won't matter if this bill is signed into law first.

Didn't realize that a similar bill had been drafted/passed in the Senate. Seems a little inefficient, but hey, that's the Mississippi legislature.
