OT - rentals in Jackson, MS and surrounding areas

Hey guys, I'm going to be moving back to Jackson or the surrounding area in the next month or two and wanted to get some feedback on apartments and to see if anyone has any info about possible places to rent. I'm looking for a 2bd/1-2ba place that's safe.

Depends on that. If you are in Madison or Ridgeland, there is the Van Mark on Old Canton and a few on Rice Road.

If you are in flowood, just drive down Lakeland Dr and find one you like.

But there aren't that many options there and not much to do in Clinton outside of work. Was thinking the Madison or Ridgeland area. I've looked at Van Mark and it's the leader right now. Was wondering if anyone had any info on individually owned townhouses or houses for rent? If I go the apt route, it'll probably be Van Mark.

Great location, and you can find a decent deal on a 2 BR. I don't know of any in particular, but they usually have a for rent sign or two. Also, they turn over pretty quickly so you may even find one for sale if you're looking.

Yea, I'm thinking of buying in 6 months to a year but just wanted to rent for that time frame so that I can figure out exactly where I want to buy.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about his views on the Jews, but he did make it a point to tell us that the house was previously occupied by "Jewish girls".

I'd try John R. Lewis: (601) 353-0800. He especially has a ton of houses in Belhaven that students like I rent. If you are moving in a month or two, he should have lots of openings as people are moving out right before the new school year begins.


ETA: I don't think John does any rentals for less than 1 year.

Thanks for all the suggestions....I decided to get a place at Van Mark since it's close to most everything I need and close to the Trace for work.
