The Royal Oak location is just south of where I did my fellowship in ‘89-‘90 at William Beaumont.Sign of the Beefcarver.
And they’re still open.

Did Prairie Dogs the drink of the Redskins Hogs with Russ Grimm one night. That was the calm part of the eveningThere is one Gingerbread Man left and it's in Carlisle. I used to love their Super Nachos with sour cream and guacamole.
Steak and Ale was owned by the Shooneys people. I don’t know if it was under the same corporate umbrella or notSteak and Ale, Lone Star Steakhouse
I'm sure there are other locations but I sometimes stop at one just outside (1/4 mile) south of Leesburg on BUS Rt 15. It's not like the one that was on College Avenue but their chicken is still very good.I'm sure it is awful - especially if the state is involved. Pretty much everything is now. There was a time though that it was good. Really good on College Ave. at 2am.
When I lived w/ Heller out at Heritage Oaks, the VIP was our turf. The cheap draft beer, the tables, the pizza - it was all just perfect. Don't know if Ronnie and I ever lost a pool game there.Train station

Oh the good ole days.
Another chain I haven’t seen in years is The Red Barn.
They know a guy (politician)Boston Market.
Just my 2 cents but Roy Rogers is awful. How on earth they are still in business on the PA Turnpike is mind boggling.
There’s one in Zanesville, Ohio, on the way to Columbus. Also still around but don't see them much anymore were the A&W restaurants. Having a burger and a A&W rootbeer. Used to be one on LBI (Long Beach Island) that I always went to growing there in the summer.

I had the book when I was a toddler.I don’t miss this one but remember when this was around? Gee, wonder why they failed? (Sarcasm font used!)

Used to be one in Cape May and on the Wildwood Boardwalk - both gone now. There’s one in Zanesville, Ohio, on the way to Columbus.
Roy Rogers had (has, I guess?) the best fast food burgers without question. My number that I miss is Howard Johnson's. AYCE Fried Clams every Friday. They were, IMO, the best fried clams I have ever eaten and it's not close.
There are still a few Roy Rodgers around.
Rax had great milkshakes. There's still a few Rax's, one Dutch Pantry (in Dubois), and yes one HoJo's left - in Benton Harbor, MI.
Ah, Red Barn. I worked at the one on South Atherton. We were permitted to take home any unsold product when we closed. It's amazing how much fried chicken was prepared in anticpation of that last half hour rush that never materialized.

Yes it was pretty good. We had a hot dog shop in Hickory TWP (Now Hermitage) that had fish sandwiches on fantastic tasting buns.Is Arthur Treacher's still around anywhere? I used to love their fish and chips.
We had a Winky's in Hermitage as a child. We really went there as kids on our bikes for the donuts.A local Pittsburgh chain that lasted for a hot minute was Winky's. Supposedly there was one in Wilmerding.
I was known to enjoy the Chi Chi's lunch buffet, especially the churros with strawberry sauce.
I saw a Pizza Hut lunch buffet last week in Cranberry, PA. Unfortunately, it was at 5:30.
I concur that Roy Rogers made a good roast beef sandwich.
Hometown buffet was also good for stretching my federal per diem budget.
Most Pittsburghers of a certain age miss Isaly's, especially their skyscraper cones. Toasted almond fudge was my favorite. (My mother would buy it by the tub.) They still live on via Klondikes and chipped chopped ham bbq sauce.
I've seen penguins on the telly, but never lobsters.Red Lobster might soon be going Chapter 11. (It’s on my tv right now.)
Me too. It would be worth a mint today (to certain people).I had the book when I was a toddler.

Having been to the UK many times, I'll say Arthur Treachers/Long John Silvers was really close to what you'd get at the corner chippy...Is Arthur Treacher's still around anywhere? I used to love their fish and chips.
So chances are it's not really "endless shrimp" after all??Red Lobster might soon be going Chapter 11. (It’s on my tv right now.)
Our Surf Taco (the only one outside of NJ) is gone. I didn't go there much, but it was about 2 minutes away up at the beach. I guess they're closing some NJ locations as well.
Still a LJS on the strip in Williamsport. Chicken Planks. They could deep fry a shoe and I'd just eat around the sole.Having been to the UK many times, I'll say Arthur Treachers/Long John Silvers was really close to what you'd get at the corner chippy...
I can't even get to Abacoa right now. I can get there. I just can't get back.I have been going to Blue Water Taco's in Jupiter when I am there. Not bad, pretty good tacos if you get a chance. Close to Jupiter Medical Hospital
That was pre-McDonalds and the first place like that we had ever seen. Burger, fries and a shake for under a dollar. King's in Mt Penn was the same.Carrol’s in Shillington for the win. Damn. Thank you, thank you, thanks you. The Old Man used to swing through and grab burgers, shakes and fries. As a kid, that was ******* awesome.
Love some greasy Gino's pie.Still plenty of Gino’s in WV!!
