I get the criss cross but WTH is the applesauce?

It is definitely dumb. Just say native american style a couple of times and watch people's reactions.

The vast majority of Indians aren't offended by being called Indians. That's what they call themselves in fact, and I have never heard the word used disrespectfully, except in old Westerns when the cowboys said "Injuns". I can see how that mispronunciation would offend them. Crap, when we played Cowboys and Indians as kids, all the kids wanted to be an Indian because they were cool.
