Was he the one that had the secret marriage?

Wrong Charles. I was thinking about Charles Kuralt.

Wikipedia says Osgood attended St. Cecelia HS, Englewood NJ. Cross paths with Vince Lombardi?

RIP Charles Osgood......Journalism and CBS News has lost a real journalist , not the woke idiots that impersonate journalists that have abandoned objectivity and lost credibility and relevance with much of America. I always enjoyed his witty and interesting take on all things America.....

I remember how when I was younger, my dad would comment that he was his favorite newsman (especially his Sunday morning show). I think he was one of a kind and had the ability to tell a story well without an obvious political filter. May he RIP.

I was the subject of one of his radio shows. I never met him. CBS interviewed me, then they added his voice as commentary for the broadcast. I have the cassette tape of the show somewhere in my basement.

I always enjoyed listening to him. Media was very different back then.

Another real newsman gone. So different from the political hacks on both sides we see today.
