Defensive coordinator. Pretty good gig for someone who barely played any football. I guess an RU education is just that good 😊
Has this been confirmed at Subway on Easton? Nothing is real regarding anything athletic connected to RU unless that happens.

Steve Belichick has been in the coaching game for awhile and his dad might have helped him along in the trade , but he's getting this job based on his own merits.
As for playing experience being a factor in coaching skills, there are some examples of coaches that never played but were considered good HCs.
Mike Leach was a well respected HC, who never played college ball, whose offense was copied by a lot of other programs
One name on the non player list might have been a failure as a HC, but Charlie Weiss was Considered a real good OC

His new boss Jedd Fisch didnt play football, played tennis iirc, so I think he’s fine with it lol.
