Like most places in this country today, winning is all that matters in Happy Valley.
Franklin has a history of being good at sweeping rape allegations under the rug.
They let you do that when you're a celebrity.
No defender of PSU but he did kick them off the team. What else is he supposed to do?
Why should he? He kicked them off the team prior to the season. Why would he comment? They haven't been part of the team in months. They released a statement and said they will not be answering questions about. Why should talk about former players? Schaino would do the same thing.

Why would he? Correct he could sexually assault someone but the PA media, psu administration, local and state politicians would cover for him if the team is winning. By contrast in NJ we see headlines for āFormer Rutgers Player ā¦ā or āOne Time Rutgers Recruit ā¦ā regardless of how weak the connection is or how insignificant the transgression is. They werenāt former players. They were current players when the crime occurred. So even when the local media reported the crime there was a cover up/misleading headline.
Wow the online arm of a Central PA newspaper with a whopping 50K circulation reports a crime (as it should). That proves the cult has turned a corner, the fan base wants to see the law throw the book at psu footballā¦ death penalty to the psu program!
Give us a break, short of a high level staff member (coach) committing serial rape of children on school property over decades, or a star recruit, and eventual murderer, raping students at knifepoint in Happy Valley, there is little public concern for psu football misdeeds. You are aware of what happened with Franklin and the rape allegations at Vandy right? You are aware what happened at PSU with Creepy Jerry and Joe the Enabler, right? How is it that the head trainer for PSU football Tim Bream, who was a LIVE IN ADVISOR AND PRESENT at the time of Tim Piazza's death as a fraternity pledge get off scott free??....while others were sentenced to jail!!! Some of the worst possible things anyone can ever imagine, and people directly involved who could have stopped it, walk away with no repercussions. Now add a new case under PSU/Franklin's watch with Franklin awkwardly running from the mic after the first question, without saying a peep. It's not a good look one bit. And I disagree about Schiano. My bet is Greg wouldn't scamper away from everyone but would firmly state he would only answer questions about the current team and on the field topics.

Never understood why Penn State hired him given his previous issues at Vanderbilt. To review: a video surfaced showing a gang rape as the video was shared around the team. Franklin spoke strongly to the whole team scolding them saying he saw the video. Then, in court, he claimed he never saw the video. And this was a guy in his first days at Penn State said he picks assistant coaches based on whether they had hot wives.
And today he walks away like a petulant child rather than handle the question... and the media let him get away with it. Every single reporter should have repeated the question until Franklin answered or ended the presser.

In GS first term here, local media tried to make a big thing out of a couple players leaving a party.. in the summer offseason, bending over a street parking sign. Called it a "thug program" iirc.
Interesting contrast in responses to the PSU case and the more famous one.
Penn State doesn't care that's the only thing we should understand .
They hired Eric Barron from FSU to be their President, replacing the disgraced Graham Spanier, even though when he was the FSU President his administration did next to nothing to determine what happened after a female alleged FSUās star quarterback Jameis Winston sexually assaulted her.
Then you have the AD PSU hired Sandy Barbour who when she was the University of California's AD was accused of never responding to or investiging a sexual harassment accusation involving the swim team.
You would think PSU would be replacing Tim Curley with someone that wasn't accused of not doing anything about a sexual harassment accusation.
PSU doesn't care what type of people they hire, except for keeping their mouths shut whan bad things happen on campus is required
Hmm.. these are not cases of shoddy hiring process.. this is intentional. These are the persons who fit the mold they need to fill.
