I hate to suggest this, but back during the Baltimore riots, rioters were complaining about the press and how they were covering the story. Could this be some form of backlash against the media over those type of stories?

I think we'll have an idea soon enough and it does little good to speculate on reasons. It could be money related. Drug related. ***** related. Just a whack job. Who knows.

If it is terrorism and this happens elsewhere, you can pretty much bet a quick turn by the media from defense of Islam to outright decrying the radical side of it and a ceasing with making distinctions between the two.

I think Coop might be on to something with it being ***** related.

Somebody here said that they heard the cameraman and reporter were engaged or something ... so, it being ***** related seems to be the most likely scenario at this point.

The cameraman was engaged to the producer, who's last day was today, she is moving to a Charlotte, NC station. The reporter was dating an anchor for the station.

My local Fox has an update: WHSV has reported that the gunman is being chased north on Interstate 81. Va. Gov. Terry McAuliffe said on AM radio that the shooter may be a disgruntled former employee. A Roanoke Times reporter heard on a police scanner that authorities are searching for a 2004 Silver Ford Mustang with license plate WZE-8846.

Prediction: Dead within the half hour.
