I just received a letter from SiriusXM with an $3 month for 3 years offer. It includes the app. I have a love/hate relationship with SiriusXM, but that offer is too good to pass up. I usually throw away all their offers without looking at them, glad the ol' lady actually opened this one. If interested, open letters from them before throwing it away.

Thanks. Pretty sure my wife went ahead and signed up for the, “just charge us whatever you want package”

I just threaten to cancel if they don't give me the same deal that I had before. That's a good deal. I think I'm paying $5/month.

They'll send that offer after about a year of you ignoring them. I took that offer last year. $3 a month for 3 years

Occasionally, they will throw out the $99 for 3 years, but that's usually on older models and if you haven't had any sort of subscription for several years. I'm like DS with the $5/month for the wife's car radio. That also gives complete access to the app, so I use the app in and out of my vehicle, she uses the in-vehicle version, and we both listen for $5/month. Hard to beat that (and not have to hear her complain about getting an app to work correctly in the car)!

You got to take that offer

I got tired of the 2 vehicles for $10 monthly offers that were emailed to me for months

I told them to tailor them to a single guy with one vehicle

They’ve been emailing free concert offers… take a chance to go…

I might take a chance to The Head and The Heart show in Oxford…

I just tried for this, but they said it was only for vehicles a certain year and older. I did get mine from $32 to $8 though, so I appreciate this thread.

Nice subtle flex on all us losers driving older cars. Based on on the age of our cars, I'm assuming my offer will be for $0.50 a month when I get it.**

I had a friend that purchased a car from about guy five years back. He noticed he had SXM after a few weeks and thought it was a glitch. He found out two years later it was a three-year plan, and the guy selling had forgot he purchased it.

I've had SXM forever and have always liked it but my Amazon Music subscription is making me rethink things. The best use for SXM today for me is to listen to college football games in the fall while I'm traveling to see the dawgs play. But that alone probably isn't a justification for keeping it.

I’ve had XM radio from damn near the beginning. It was so long ago that I used a cassette tape adapter to listen to it in my truck when I was at state in early 2000s.

I hit them every year. They're almost as bad as dealing with Directv. Threaten to walk and you get the deal.

Can’t beat it on a road trip. 80’s on 8, Chris Stapleton Radio, and the occasional pop-up channels like Metallica and Billy Joel. The Message, for when I need to garbage out the garbage in…. And that’s not even mentioning the live sports and Fantasy channel (87). I’ll play it through my Alexa speakers a lot, as well. I could probably get away with steaming only, but haven’t pulled that plug yet.

I am in love with Meg Griffin on SXM Classic Vinyl. I have a playlist of her “Speeding Ticket Music”. It’s a good thing I drive with Cruise Control.

Mine would be the same if not for the 87 year old who decided it was a good time to cross HWY 49. Luckily we both were ok, besides the new note she gave me. And mine isn't far from qualifying for the $3 plan since my "new" car was just my wife handing me her keys on the way to getting a new ride.

I own two vehicles with antique tags, not restored classics but original. One has a factory cassette player and a cool cassette holder built into the arm rest. The other came without a radio at all, still doesn’t have one.

This vehicle is a 2012 Tundra. Outside of hunting season I probably drive it once a month, but the app is what is use mostly.

You can still get it if you want to....just buy an adaptor for about $10. I used one in my old ride before it died. By the way, 2004 Expedition for sale- needs engine but the rest still works fine LOL.

Varsity sports app has all the games for free. Its learfield’s app and can search by team and pick which schools radio guys you want to listen too.

We have had the $3 deal for a year on both my truck and my wife's car. We enjoy it on trips. I've linked Pandora or Spotify from my phone in the past but I like having the DJs on XM. I listen to classical music a lot and enjoy hearing some history on the performances, performers, or composers. They also play some rare performances that surprise me. Also, no commercials which is great.

Last time I called and did the cancel thing, they offered me a no hassle fixed rate of $159 for the year. Satellite in wife's car and app in the other two. I don't have to call back anymore.

Sitting here laughing to myself because in my old beater truck I've got one of these now so I can stream blue tooth music through the original AM/FM radio in the truck. $14 Amazon purchase and I now have Pandora, Spotify, etc. over the truck radio/speakers coming from my phone. My kids and grands are SO embarrassed. It actually works pretty damn good too, connects way quicker than my wifes phone does in her regular vehicle that is blue tooth equipped. It sounds a little hollow maybe, you know like factory speakers instead of some good ones but not bad at all for $14

Assume you had the magnetized receiver with the wire running out of the window as well? Not the most elegant looking set up but functional for long road trips. Also had the house model you had to find a way to get the wired antenna to the outside and mounted somewhere to pick it up. Again, not the most elegant set up with wires running everywhere. I guess there really have been tech improvements over the years.**
I have to say the thread has prompted me to poke SXM given I'm paying 50/mo for 2 cars and the app. Seems I've been subsidizing you 3/mo guys. It's been "funny" to watch the price creep over the years but didn't realize it had gotten that large vs the current offers.

I had this one in my truck with the big shark fin antenna magnet on the roof. I had a Roady2 in the tractor I drove. It was super portable.

I’ve had so many of those over the years for either XM radio or just to Bluetooth my phone in older trucks and tractors.

About 16 or 17 years ago I subscribed to XM Radio. This was before they merged with / bought out Sirius. I think the subscription back then was $300 for 3 years. About a year and a half after that, XM radio was having a hard financial time and, in an attempt to generate cash, they offered a lifetime deal for $500. They let me apply my unused portion of my three year subscription towards the purchase of the lifetime deal. I took it. It included three free transfers for when you would upgrade radios. I have used two of them; one for my 2017 Tesla and the second one to my 2023 Tesla. It is still working great and I love it.

I love satellite radio. I've had it since Dan Patrick and Rob Dibble had their sports show. I would get rid of cable before I got rid of siriusXM.
Me too. I keep my car radio on a Sirius/XM channel all the time.
