A few years ago I copied the DDDY and put it on a football forum that covers both pro and college football. I of course gave all proper credit, a brief history of the tournament, and referenced the pack. The first year I did it, Ben Roethlisberger beat out Craig James and won (For all of that (alleged) rape) and got the tournament named in his honor, and in the second year the 8th Circuit court of appeals (for their role in the NFL lockout) beat out Jim Tressell. I took a year off because I was busy, so this years tournament covers the last two years. The tournament is down to its sweet 16, and as this place is the inspiration for my iteration of the tournament, I just wanted to show you guys the awesome bracket that a graphical designer that posts on the forum made, and to get your opinions on who should win "The Third Annual Ben Roethlisberger Douche of the Year Tournament"

So, here is the bracket (linked for huge) and I'd like to hear what you think:

Hilarious and Awesome!

By the way, I am hoping for a Bobby Petrino vs Teo's Girlfriend Championship.

ETA: how the hell did Dungy beat out Skip Bayless? Bayless is by far the biggest Douche on TV in my opinion.

Dungy harassed his gay son about his sexuality until he killed himself, and the only a few weeks later lectured the audience for a football game about good parenting.

Edit: Also, a lot of people did not want to vote for Bayless because he is a professional troll that TRIES to piss people off. It was, however, one of the closest matches of the tournament.

You sure about the Dungy thing? I've never heard about that before ... only that his son killed himself, but didn't know about any provocation from Tony. Seems out of character to me.

This^.

I have never heard that about Dungy. If true, that's terrible.

How did Petrino and Greg Williams end up in the same bracket? That's a championship matchup right there.

If you look above the four different pods, I divided the bracket into four divisions: Players, Administrators, Media, and Wildcard. Saban made the wildcard because he was tied for 32 place during nominations, so he, Jay Cutler, and Brandon Jacobs were in a three way match for the last slot in the wildcard division.

That is also something I do differently- I give each individual match approximately two days and the whole tournament lasts about two months. Its something that I do on that forum to kill time in the off season.

I don't have the sources handy (though I have seen them), but after the kid killed himself, some of his friends tried to get the word out about how abusive Dungy was about his son's sexuality and it was a major factor in the suicide. It did not get a whole lot of press and really is just speculation, but if that happened, holy crap that is terrible.

Also, even if you don't believe that part of the story (I do, because Dungy is incredibly evangelical and has made anti-gay statements in the past), it was horrible DOUCHEY timing on his part to lecture a football audience about good parenting just weeks after his son killed himself, no matter the reason.

but Penn State lost? That seems incongruous

I made an executive decision and banned Paterno and Sandusky from the tournament. The PSU Cover Up Crew is the collective name for a few other people in the AD that were around the incident. The justification for most was that Pellman is still a thing and his opinion is going to lead to horrible brain damage for more players in the future, while the PSUCUC have already been fired/arrested accordingly.
