whereby significant sound equipment would be trucked in to blast religious music directly into their ignorant *** faces? Seriously, why couldn't there be a "wall of protection" manned by people of conscious drowning out the drivel of these godless ingrates?

You were upset over his death. Just don't say you're going to do it here first!

I can't see where it's protected speech.

Jason Rogers is the brother of a friend of mine. Pinelake is a few miles from my house. I guarandamntee you I'm going to be there. The plan is to simply stand in front of them and block them. Some have talked about bringing sheets for blank posterboard to hold in front of their signs.

I haven't followed where all these asshats have been with their protests. But I doubt they've run across a place like Rankin County. And I hope they won't want to come back.

The church grounds are private property. The land around it is surely private property also. The right of way along Highway 25 is NOT a public forum - you can't just hang out on the side of the highway or other roads.

I don't know where they'll be able to protest without being moved. There aren't any sidewalks or other public areas (suitable for protesting) around the church.</p>

All the members of the church are from the Fred Phelps family. Phelps, who grew up in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High school like Tyler Russell, Mutt the Hoople, and Dudehead did, became a Methodist minister and a Democrat Party activist (huge Al Gore supporter) and has lived in Kansas for years. He's and his children are all lawyers, and they know if some Rankin County redneck takes a swing at them they can sue them and the Police department for millions.

I'd love for someone to find the money trail on this group. My theory is that they're funded by some George Soros-back group, simply to give Evangelical Christians a bad name.

Especially anywhere near Rankin county. Enough people already know they are going to be there to make a counter-protest. Even though they have the right to protest, the cops get to set up a designated place for them to protest. Most of the time the cops give them a place very far away from where anybody could see them. I doubt these jokes cause as much ruckus as people think they will. Knowing Rankin County, some crazy redneck will square some heads.

The last time a man was there, he got the holy crap beaten out of him. When the Westboro Law Firm tried to sue, there were no witnesses and no football of the asskicking.

I realize he has run for governor of Kansas as a "democrat" but that does not make him one. Supporting Al Gore in the 80s because Gore was anti gay bill of rights does not make him a democrat.

Look, democrats (like me) think this guy is fool just like anyone. Do not stereotype me as anything like this lunatic.

I hate these people but with all honesty, I believe the only thing that keeps them around is the hatred for them. Forget these bastards exist and they might go away. Hell, they want people out there wanting to fight. It gets them on the news and lets people know they still exist. If protesting at soldiers' funerals doesn't work, they will move on to something else. This is working so they will stick with it.

Now, that would be almost impossible if it was my family that was being affected but I do believe its the truth.

Because I am a dumb *** red neck with a bad temper who served in the Marine Corp. She is a little worried. I carried my kids to Pizza Hut a little while ago. I saw a bunch of the bikers at a Mexican restaurantby the interstatebut I was reallyhoping to run into some of the son of bitches. I probably would have showed the USMC tattoo on my arm and then told them to 17 off. Yes I would say it.

Or anyone else's for that matter. For these asshats to spew forth the venom and hatred they emit during a funeral and have the gall to call themselves Christians is utter blasphemy to say the least. Unfeeling acts of hatred are contrary to all Christian beliefs and the beliefs of any decent human being.

They filed for their permit to protest and our local judge gave them the permit. He said he had to give them the permit but he had the right to say where the protest was held. He permitted them behind a gym about 2 miles away from the visitation site. No one even knew they were there. Now that is a judge with a head full of sense! Another cool deal that happened at this particular funeral, happened at the grave site. We (Patriot Guard) was standing a flag line at the grave yard. There were 4 or 5 Hells Angels there. We invited them to stand in our line. They told us, they were not there for the flag line but were there in case of trouble. They told us if the protesters started anything, for us to stand back and they would take care of it. The protesters were assembled at a site across the cemetery from the funeral. They started all there hollering and screamin about God was punishingthe USand he hated ****. The Hells Angels drove there bikes over in front of the protesters and held them at high idle. This drowned out the protesters but hardly affected the service at all. A good day for us, bad day for the idiots that had driven all the way from Kansas to protest!

When the protesters finally walk by you'll see there are maybe 5-6 of them and half are kids. Thoughts and prayers to the family of SSgt Rogers.

He never protests in San Francisco or at any Gay Pride parades around the country. I think he's taking orders from either George Soros or some Soros-backed group that funds Westboro Law Firm.

and the fact that they believe the soldiers are dying because of America's encouragement of the gay lifestyle. Also, if you research Phelps and his "Al Gore connection" at all, you find out that he only liked Gore when he felt Gore was anti-gay. As soon as the Clinton/Gore ticket released that they were pro-gay, he picketed Gore's father's funeral telling Al that his father was in hell because he supported gays.

if thatsum ***** told me my dad was in hell at his funeral I would have been on his *** like white on rice, it would have took everybody there to get meoff his ***. He sounds like a man that will know what hell is really like when he finally dies. I never really wish anything bad on anyone, but this group, I wish the worst that could happen to a human being. I may be wrong for this, but it's just the way I feel. What's sad is the poor kids that are being brought up in this and probably have no idea what they are really doing, or at least I hope they don't.
