I am particularly impressed that he was portrayed in the movie "Too Big to Fail" by Tony Shalhoub, one of my favorite actors. Now, that's really making it!

Just for fun question. Who was the first Duke qb to complete a forward pass. Who was the reciever. What yard line did the reciever catch the pass. How far did the reciever run with the ball before being tackled. What was the qb's playing number. What was the receivers playing number. What year did this happen. Who was the opponent. Did Duke win this game? :D OFC

Bonus. Who was the center that snapped the ball. I expect all the other questions to be correctly answered but not this one. If any of you get this last question I will go on a self imposed two week suspension from this thread. OFC

Am I still up after all of the questions you just Posed?

No that's just for fun. You go ahead and go for it. Ask what you want. Either someone knows it or they don't. Your knowledge of sports especially when it comes to Duke is impressive . I'm learning a lot. Thought I knew Duke sports pretty well but I had no idea of who John Mack is. With what I've now read about him I would say he is just as successive if not more than any Duke athlete ever and you knowing that is pretty impressive too. You are up. Educate us. OFC

He was a fraternity brother of mine, so it's not like I have this pervasive knowledge of all Duke athletics. New question: in 1988 Spurrier lost his temper in a game against NC State, and was then suspended for one game by the ACC. What happened during that game that set him off?

The 'Ol Ball Coach called it "The worst call in the history of Duke football" and for good reason. It was at Raleigh, a furiously played, fast paced high scoring game nip and tuck whole way. It was under a minute, State had 3rd and long and we intercepted a pass, SEEMINGLY to ice the game...

Sadly a pretty much PHANTOM defensive holding call was assessed against Duke, giving State field position for a field goal. They kicked it and the game ended in a tie. They knew even with a tie they would lock up a bowl. Duke won next week over UNC w/asst Barry Wilson as head coach, as Spurrier was suspended by ACC commissioner Gene Corrigan for criticizing ACC officials. We still finished 7-3-1, but not good enough for a bowl....This was one unhappy Blue Devil! We got screwed!

That’s the way I remember it to Hart. I was almost as mad about that call as Spurrier. Total hose job by refs. Kid named Brittingham had the interception.

Not Braswell. Next hint: His last name is a combination of sky's favorite uniform color and the creator of Star Wars.
