There is a very strong rumor that a very famous jazz singer is the daughter of one of the most famous pool players of all time.
Name both.

Etta James
The speculated father goes by the nickname Minnesota Fats. I know his first name is Rudolph but man I can’t think of his last name to save my life. Does the nickname count well enough to win me the question? Haha

Did you really know that or did you goggle it? If you knew the answer you probably know which table
at the Green Room was best for 9 ball.
You are up.

I honestly don’t know much about pool. I play in bars when I go out. Like a year ago Some old man asked to play me for the table one night. He broke and didn’t miss a shot. Afterwards he told me he could of beat Minnesota Fats in his prime. I asked who that was and he told me I didn’t deserve to hold a pool stick if I didn’t know him..... So I looked him up and the whole Etta James situation pops up, I read about that too.

Technically yes, I Googled the answer but I did it a long time ago lol. If I Googled it today I wouldn’t have a problem remembering his last name.

I’ll come up with a question shortly.

Alright golf fans... 2006 US Open is one of the most heartbreaking happenings of Phil Mickelson’s career. He went into the final hole with a 1-shot lead. He made a double bogey in chaotic fashion and tied for 2nd place.

What’s the name of the course?
Who won that 2006 US Open?

I know the course was Winged Foot in New York. The golfer was Australian (I think) and I can see his face, but can’t place the name. Pretty sure it’s probably his only major, too.

Nice tee shot by Phil off the hospitality tent on 18.

Ogilvy....that’s it. The guy shaved in the morning and had a five o’clock shadow by the time he reached the tee box.

The Minnesota Twins won the 1987 World Series over St. Louis.

Two part question....1) how many games did the series go, and 2) who was the MVP of the series?

I imagine you are pretty pleased with the start your Twins are off to this season.

I WAS about to go Killebrew, Oliva, Versalis, Carew, Tovar, but thats my era. Used to know a Twinks reliever who lost a tough battle to cancer a few years ago. Shelby NC native Jim Roland played w/a number of guys I mentioned... OFC

Not Blyleven. Jack Morris was MVP in 1991.

The hint I'll give is that it was a pitcher.

In 1974 three teammates from the same NFL team defected to the World Football League. It didn't last long of course and the three did return tof the NFL. Name the three players and the WFL team they signed with. OFC

You stumped us and you know it

Ok I'm not one for these things to linger so a couple of hints. Two are in the NFL HOF. One of them once played for the Cleveland Browns. When they all did return to the NFL one of them played for the Giants. Two of them have been mentioned in this thread. The NFL team they played and the WFL team they all played for are located in the south. That's enough hints for now.Sit on it a whIle and nobody cheats. I'm going to bed.OFC LCJKPWMDMS.

Wild guesses here. I think Czonka dabbled with the league? That could mean Paul Warfield as the former Browns (HOF) player, if the Dolphins are the southern team? Other named in the thread, Jim Kick?

I don't even know the WFL teams. I think the Birmingham Stallions, Tampa Bay Bandits, Houston Gamblers, Orlando Breakers, and a team in Memphis (Belles?) played in the USFL, so that's as close of a guess as I can throw out on that front...lol.

I think you got the answer for Sky dtodd! Csonka was mentioned earlier. Sounds good to me, OFC

You did very well. It was the Memphis Southmen.I tried to just about spell it out. Look at all the capital letters after the OFC in my post with the hints. You are up but just for fun what is a dicker rod? OFC

I have never heard of a dicker rod. Sounds like it either deals with fishing, or slang for a guys "junk"...lol.

I will stick with defunct football leagues. What two former USFL quarterbacks went on to Hall of Fame NFL careers?

2nd part, what other USFL quarterback alum, although not a future Hall of Famer, did go on to join one of the previously mentioned future hall of famers as a Super Bowl MVP during his time in the NFL?
