Greg Popovich has coached the Spurs to 1,245 victories since he took over in 1995. Before that, the Spurs were hardly a blip on the radar. Who is their second winningest coach of all-time with a paltry 177 wins leading the franchise?

If my first pick Bob Hill is incorrect, then what about Doug Moe? Wasn’t he fired after the ‘79 season when they blew that 3-1 lead in the western finals? I think he was there for a few years when they had George Gervin.

‘99 NBA draft - Who was selected 1st, 11th, 13th and 14th? (You have to put the correct name with the correct pick)

Really? Are these getting easier?

1st - Elton Brand to the Bulls
11th - Trajan Langdon to the Cavs
13th - Corey Maggette to the Sonics (think his rights were traded to Orlando)
14th - William Avery to the Wolves (ugh)

Brand is a gimme but I thought I’d slip a few folks up correctly placing Langdon, Maggette and Avery. Money shot though - you’re back up.

Not Malone or Winfield. And I should preface....this person was an MVP in the NBA. It's not a trick question.

Nash was a first-round pick.

Here’s a hint....think longer ago. He played his college basketball at Grambling State.

Willis Reed? I’m thinking he may have won it in ‘70 when he delivered the Knicks their first championship with Walt Frazier. Man who was the guy on that team with the goofy feet kicking jumper? His name is on the tip of my tongue.

Just a side question. Does anybody remember the game of "jumpin" Johnny Green at Michigan State? My father signed with Michigan State, he didn't last the 1st week there when the scholarship athletes had to report before the general student population started and he transferred to Butler. Anyway, he said one of the reasons he chose Sparty was they had just won the Big 10 with Jumpin Johnny Green!

I know that's a out of the blue question, but he has since passed, and of all the stories and life lessons he shared, I never asked him what was so appealing to him about Jumpin' Johnny Green.

It is Willis Reed and it was 1970. I assumed the Grambling hint would be enough.

You’re up!

I believe it was the 2001-02 season....the year after they made the finals. They lost to Celtics, and Allen Iverson said the word practice a bunch. I’ll say 18 times.

What former U.S. Olympian was drafted in the 10th round of the NBA draft, as well as the third to last pick in the NFL draft by the Cowboys? Note....he never even played high school basketball and had little familiarity with football, either.

(I’ll give hints later if there’s no bites, but I feel a few people here are going to figure it out.)

I think I know which player you’re talking about because I seem to remember hearing something about a player in the NFL that had little to know experience playing football but I can’t for the life of me think of his name. If it’s the player that I’m thinking I believe he either played for the Panthers or still plays for the Panthers

I've been racking my brain on this one and think whoever does figure it out it will be a guess. There hasn't been 10 rounds for NBA draft in a while so it can't be a relative recent Olympian or a current project in football or basketball so I think it's been a while. I thought of a lot of former Olympians and I'm gonna say it is Willie Davenport. OFC

This person never played in the NBA or NFL. He was just drafted.

In the morning I can give a hint that almost surely gives it away. Everyone here will have heard the name.

Carl Lewis ????

That’s the guy. He was drafted by the Bulls (NBA Draft) in June of 1984 and then won four gold medals later that summer at the Olympics in L.A.

It would have been easy had I said 1984 or four gold medals in my original question.

You’re up dtodd.
