This player was originally drafted by the Twins, pitched there for a few seasons and was considered one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball during the mid-2000s.

If no one gets it by morning I’ll ask a new question.

I'll take a swing at it with the Twins clue. If it's the guy I'm thinking of he then went to the Cubs. Matt Garza ???

dtodd w/that answer you ironically answered the question about the only Tampa Bay hurler to toss a no-no. Had to look it up and disqualify myself when everyone was whiffing on it! OFC

The 50 HR's in a season club in baseball has almost doubled since Cecil Fielder reached this milestone in 1990.

Who was the last player to reach 50 homers, prior to Fielder in 1990, when this feat became much more common?

I think Tate Armstrong may have been the player. As far as the team goes it's a swag with Dallas and the second round. OFC

Nolan Ryan is without a doubt one of the greatest pitchers ever. His 1968 Topps rookie card is one of the most valuable cards out. I was fortunate to have collected two of them and actually was able to sell one of them for 1,000.00 a few years ago. The odd thing about it is that it's not an individual card. He shares it with another NY Met who did become a team mate and played several years in the majors but never came close to the success of Ryan. Name the other player. OFC

Someone has to get this by 7 am. After that if it is not answered you guys will have to judge among yourselves as to the correct answer and be the next up. He ended up with playing for several teams just like Nolan including the Twins, White Sox and Phillies. OFC

Pitcher Mickey Lolich was mentioned here other day as MVP of the 1968 World Series. Lolich and the Detroit Tigers won the WS in 7 games over the St.Louis Cardinals. How many '68 Series games did Lolich win, and how many innings did he pitch? OFC
