Wanna take my 9 year old son on one of these tours. Leaning towards Honey Island Tours out of Slidell. Any suggestions on others?
OT: Swamp/Gator tours around New Orleans

We have done the Honey Island one because my in-laws live in Picayune and it is near Slidell. Your kids will live it. The tour operators throw those big *** marshmallows in the water and the gators love them. They can make them come right out of the water. The tour takes place mostly on the Pearl River that separates MS from LA but takes you through some back water swamps around Honey Island too.
We did one in Lafayette. Had a blast. My brother's kids loved it. The one we did was pretty much the top attraction on tripadvisor and all the great reviews were justified.
There is one close to Lafitte. Less than 30 minutes south of NO on barataria blvd. (google maps). This will probably be the closest to you. If you do this be sure to eat at Voleos in Lafitte. Order the flounder Lafitte. You won't be disapointed.

In Westwego on the company canal, by the seafood market. Right off the westbank expressway. 10 minutes from downtown. Never had much of an interest in it but I just remembered the guy complaining every time we had to dredge the canal. This was 4 years ago, I'm assuming they're still in business.
