Is there any way to use find my iPhone if it has not been set up on that device? Backstory: the wife put phone and bible on roof of car then had a fight with the 2 year old while buckeling in seat, when she got back in forgot about phone and bible until we got to church. (I'm sure this is somehow my fault but that's a different story). I went back and found the bible but not the phone.

If it's not on vibrate you could try calling and walking around the general area while listening for the ring tone.

This is completely

and totally your fault! I am, frankly, shocked and dismayed that you could be so careless!

Reasons it is your fault:

1. Why didn't YOU put the kid in the car?
2. Why didn't YOU carry her phone and Bible?
3. Why didn't YOU remind her to get it off the car?
4. Why didn't YOU see where they fell off?
5. Why didn't YOU find the phone?
6. Why didn't YOU turn the sound back on this morning?
7. Why didn't YOU set up find my phone on her phone?

Bottom line, you are gonna owe her a brand new iphone6 because of your selfishness, carelessness and total disregard for all she does for your family.

8. As the spiritual leader of the home, why weren't YOU in charge of the Bible?

Was "find my iPhone" turned off, or just never used? I think the default it "on" so you should be able to use it. Install the find iPhone app on an iPad or something and log in with her Apple ID. Should work. Or you can do it from the iCloud if you just want to use a web browser. It should be on unless she turned it off deliberately.

I have never set up 'Find my iPhone' and I just went to the www.iCloud.com website and was able to accurately locate my phone.

Come on now, nothing wrong with adding a little spice to your bedroom

Don't knock it until you try it

This thread reminds me of an old Drew Carey episode. He walks up to a woman's desk in the office and asks if she has seen his beeper, as he thinks he laid it down on her desk. He explains it's a new one that vibrates when it beeps. She swears she hasn't seen it. Drew walks off to look elsewhere, then she reaches to her telephone, dials a number (obviously his), then just sits back and her eyes glaze over and she smiles. Classic.

^^This^^ You just need the correct Apple User ID & PW for the phone to search for it. I could search for anyone's. Only problem is that the phone has to be on to find it.
