OT: The Bridge......Anybody watch this last night?

I'm simply tired of the regurgitated ideas that network TV and most cable stations come out with. There are way too many shows about cops and doctors. I think the reason shows like Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and How I Met Your Mother are so popular is because they AREN'T based on those 2 topics. Law and Order, CSI, and other shows like Grey's Anatomy are all regurgitated cop and doctor dramas.
I'm not saying the Bridge is like that, but on the surface it looks like a buddy cop drama. The major networks seem to keep coming up with them every single fall too.

I'm afraid that's been true of TV for years, too. So much of it is honestly just pure trash...I get sick of getting excited about previews for shows (or movies for that matter) just to find out they're full of sex or foul language. I just want a well told story that makes me think. Period.
I liked it. Pace was kind of slow for a pilot. After watching I read that the lady detective is supposed to have Aspergers so her character makes a lot more sense now. I really hope that they somehow make Matthew Lillard the second killer.
