Anybody been watching this new series. The first few episodes were pretty damn good, but this week was lacking much substance. More fluff than anything else. Believe its been out 4 weeks now. If you haven't been watching, its worth it. FX on Wednesday nights 10E/9C.

I've been watching. I don't typically get into crime dramas since they always seem like the same ol', same ol' to me, but I enjoy the grittiness of ones like The Killing and The Bridge. I don't know that there's enough substance in it to keep it going for 5-6 seasons, but I can see it having a decent 2-3 year run.

It kinda reminds me how Battlestar Galactica (talk smack about that show and you will feel my fury) would get really crazy, hit some major plot point, then calm down and let some character development happen that will hopefully be important in the future. I think the guy drawing pictures that Sonya was with at the end of last night will be fairly important going forward, as will the parallels between Marco & Fausto. Also, Lyle Lovett?
Makes me wonder about the timing of this release. Is there a hidden mesasage..
Within the entire series? It really awakens the casual news observer, to what actually happens in a lot of our border towns. Not getting on a political rant but this area of the country has some major legislation looming. Maybe they're trying to broaden the knowledge of these types of circumstances.
The only way they can keep this going, is if they ellude to and find out that there are more than one killer. Find one at the end of this season, but the killings continue. Leading into following season. Then turn it full circle and uncover an entire ring of killers. Something to that effect.

+1 BSG. Related, anyone seen Low Winter Sun? After Hell on Wheels I think. I saw the commercials and recorded the premiere but haven't watched it. Right now I'll give about anything that airs on FX a chance, they've done really well lately.
