Brian Harman (-8) is the current leader by 1 after shooting a 6 under 65. Afternoon tee times are dealing right now with wind and heavy rain.

Bryson Dechambeau shot +7 yesterday including a total whiff on one shot from the rough. Today he shot a 6 Under 65, a 13 stroke turn around!

So far today Chris Gotterup, playing with fellow former B1G Golfer of the Year, Thomas Detry, is 3 Under in Round 2 after an Eagle on 2 and Birdie on 7. He's currently on 9, 2 Under for the tourney and sitting T15.

Hatton -5 after 2 rounds.
Scheffler is -4 on the 3rd hole
Finau -4 on 18
McIlroy and Bradley are -3 after 2 rounds

Cut line has been moving between 1 and 2 Over.

Gotta discuss pace of play. 6 hour rounds yesterday is a bit ridiculous.

Still up there as one of my favorite golf weeks of the year, probably only behind Augusta.

Rahm throwing a fit on the course. Dropped his club, kicked it several times. Picked it up and slammed it into the ground.

Finished 6 Under for the Round and 5 Under for the tourney.

Currently T5, 4 behind leader Matt Fitzpatrick. If it remains as it is, he may be paired with Tony Finau tomorrow.

T4, -8 with 3 others going into final round. 6 strokes off the lead (Scheffler). Tees off 2:10pm local time, 9:10am ET.

Thought he might have gotten paired with McIlroy today, especially after last weekend's Scottish Open finish between them.

Coincidentally, today is his 26th birthday.

The weather forecast from Wednesday has been way off the mark. It is beautiful there today.

Enjoy the final round! Go Chris!

Will Gotterup get any consideration for the Ryder Cup? If keeps playing like this he has to be considered.

Depends. He's way back in Ryder Cup points. A really good finish here would help. Then he'd need to make more noise in the 2 tourneys remaining and FedEx playoffs.

If Bradley is really going to hold off for a while picking the final 6 team members then?????

If Bryson's 1st round was like his last 3. He tore the course apart today. LOL!

Just finished watching the DVR (had an all day disc golf tourney today at Rutgers, which I actually won) and it was awesome to see how well Gotterup played and great to hear the NBC guys playing up his game all day. They also mentioned that if he can finish strong he will get some Ryder Cup attention, especially with it being at Bethpage Black, where distance is a weapon. Hats off to Scheffler, too, for a truly dominant performance.

Loved the success and attention Gotterup got.
Congratulations to Scottie, who struggled in the early part of the year but now has 2 majors.
My only issue is there was no excitement in the final round. Nobody made a run at him.

“At some point, I would have hoped to be in a position like this, but I don’t know if I would have expected it to come this soon,” Gotterup told The Post. “It’s really just been a whirlwind two weeks. I feel like my belief levels are improved. I’ve been surprised with how comfortable I’ve been in these scenarios, and that’s a nice feeling to know that I can step up to the plate and deliver when needed.”

Chris Gotterup turned ‘house money’ into British Open breakthrough that could have Ryder Cup implications

Actually, I won my division, including beating a top 10 player in the world in our division and winning about $200, while you probably spent another fruitful day trolling everyone you met on the internet.
Congrats on winning your frisbee play session.

Gotterup on the leaderboard at the 3M Open first round. Sitting 5th currently, still on the course. Four strokes behind.

Had to scramble16-18. Hit his tee shot on the Par 5 18th into the lake but was saved by his short game, playing them Even Par.

He;s T4 (-8) after a 63. He's 3 strokes off the lead as a lot of players went lowwwwwwww.

He was in the featured group this aft along with Wyndham Clark and Adan Scott. He got a ton of TV time and was the player interview during the round where he talked a bit of being a little worn out (my words) after 5 straight weeks with all the travel. He was also the hot topic on the post round show.

Hey @knightfan7 change the title of this thread to just "OT Chris Gotterup 2025". There seems to be people more following him on the board!

Shots are a bit off so far today. 1 Over thru 10.. Other than the Par 5 12th, he hasn't had a reasonable chance for Birdie which he did get along with 2 Bogey where he hit into 2 different traps on one hole and found the lake again on his 9th hole (18).

Chris played the 2nd 9 better, shooting -3, a 2 Under 69 for the round and 10 Under for the tourney. He did miss a couple 7-8 foot Birdie putts or it would have been lower. The highlight of the day was making a 42' pitch shot from off the green for a Birdie on his 17th hole.

He's currently T7 with 5 other players including one of his playing partners, Wyndham Clark. If he and Clark do get paired it will at least be the 4th round playing together since the final in Scotland.

Big day on Saturday and he’s right there. Just not sure how much he has left in the tank after all the travel. Here’s hoping he is right there late Sunday.
