Now I don't consider myself old at 26 going on 27, but a few things here lately have really made me feel like I'm getting some years under my belt:
  1. Watching a high school football game and realizing that the seniors playing on the field were only in 3rd grade when you were a senior.
  2. Running into an old classmate who you had a big crush on in high school, and noticing how much she has let herself go.
  3. All the teachers and principals that worked at your high school have retired or died

In 18 months if Marty jumped in the DeLorian and..

...went back 30 years he would arrive where he started in 1985.

How about someone born the year you graduated high school now old enough to buy beer? That is the boat I am sailing in now.

My wife called me an old man(im 32) over the weekend because a group of tweens were dicking around at the church playground across the street from us at 9pm and I went over to tell them to go the 17 home.
I must say though, I thoroughly enjoyed being the guy that used to yell at me when I was a little dbag tween. I was laughing to myself while I verbally abused em.

I feel ya. I just turned 27 a few weeks ago and been experiencing similar things. It's weird when the last time you saw a certain person as kid and see them recently and they are a very much developed young lady now.

When I realized a while back that A-rod and Jeter had both been in the league like 20 years. Its not particularly interesting, but that just struck me a while back. I remember both of them as rookies like it was yesterday.

Realizing I have been able to outrun HD6 and DS for over 30 years

Ozarka can legally chase down a slam piece born in 1995.

Most people born in this century don't actually know why it is called "rolling down your window". Nor do they know what a "car phone" is.

Sadly, starting next week 12 year olds will never have lived a day without the War on Terror being a major objective of our government.

Realizing that a large part of the population will never understand how vital the existence of the No.2 pencil was to the enjoyment of your favorite cassette.

"Why do they call it rewind on my DVR dad?" -- I'll get that question one day.

A student told me the other day that I was the same age as her parents. She is in 9th grade and I am 34. That hurt.

I quit being excited to get carded. Now I am old/jaded enough to realize the waitress is just looking for a bigger tip.

Of all the things i have lost through the years, I miss my 25 year old bladder the most! For those of you not yet over 40, you will remember this one day.

Pretty much everything in this thread. And hangovers. 2-3 days if I really get after it.

+1

The wife is 26, I'm 40 something. She doesn't understand why I'm not fired up to drive 400 miles there/party/drive 400 miles back and go to work on Monday.

I find it funny that at 26 I can hold a more enjoyable conversation with folks in their forties than folks in their early twenties.

My oldest niece, that was born when I was 16, has already graduated college, working full time, and is getting married in November.

Looking at hot coeds in my tailgate tent and realizing that...

A.) I'm old enough to be their father, or B.) their grandfather if I hadn't pulled out in time.

It's called intelligence and personality.

Yep. I think you're right. That and I can't stand going over to a college apartment and the smell is a combination of fart, cigarettes, incense, and overflowing garbage.

When you realize the harmless act of checking out a hot female makes you a creepy old man is a kick in the nuts.
