Do the larval "seed ticks" carry it that you know of? I got absolutely worn out by them a few weeks ago. Not showing any symptoms or anything, but it's definitely concerning because my line of work finds me regularly picking seed ticks off of me this time of year.
This allergy has been around for years. I joined an alpha gal group on FB and have read where some people have had this twenty years although they didn't know at the time what it was. Normal blood levels without alpha gal is .035. Mine was 7.2 which means it's twenty one times above normal. I have read where some people's levels are 40,50 and even a 100 times above normal. One lady was so severely allergic that she could go full blown allergic to just the smoke from a grill cooking red meat. In due time I may be able to eat red meat again but all in all its not as bad as it seems.

It's official. This thread has made me question bow hunting, planting food plots, etc. I have not questioned turkey hunting though. I can put up with a lot of **** to kill a turkey.

Do any of you that suffer from the alpha-gal allergy have any adverse reactions to milk?

My daughter developed a dairy allergy out of the blue about 2 years ago. She was 8 at the time.

The symptoms (stomach ailments, delayed reactions, etc.) are very similar to hers. Alpha-gal was never really on our radar before, but the quick research I've done today makes me think it could be a possibility.

Alpha gal is very much related to dairy products. There are a lot of people with this that cannot have any dairy products. There are even IV's in hospitals that have certain elements in it that also causes reactions to this. Not trying to scare anyone but like I said earlier that this particular tick is very aggressive. i encourage everyone to read up on this as there is plenty of info on the web.
