I've heard the trip from Starkville to Tupelo is the Sonic Drive of the Game.

I do like their crunchier corndogs & foot long Chili Cheese Coney. Get the Tots. The fries are worthless.

The best place in town is Kermit's Outlaw Kitchen. It's a bit different but very good. Park Heights is pretty good. So is Forklift. Vanelli's has awesome pizza. I haven't eaten at Blue Canoe or the Neon Pig but those have good reputations.
For entertainment......there isn't much really. If you like cars don't miss the Tupelo Automobile Museum. You will be surprised to see a collection like that in a place like Tupelo. It's world class.

Better eat something good before you come. Good options are limited. Nah Woody's, Romie's, Kermit's Outlaw Kitchen, Nautical Whimsey, and Park Heights are pretty good. As far as entertainment... good luck. I go out of town to be entertained.

If you're into bar food, Steele's dive is pretty good. KOK is pretty good, but, honestly, I don't really think it's all it's cracked up to be.

If chains are you're thing, you're all set

And The Blue Canoe has live music. It should be on their website. So does Nautical Whimsy along with that row of restaurants that includes Papa v's bistro, and Kermits Outlaw Kitchen.

Also, The Stables has a good burger, and a very good Po Boy (for Tupelo). It's in what's called "Davis Alley" that is behind Tupelo Hardware. Tupelo Hardware is at the corner of Front and East Main St. there is a large parking lot. If you have trouble finding it. Walk towards the fire station while looking left into the alleys.

You should have all the food recommendations you need from this thread and the other last month - but something I haven't seen mentioned. If you're into awesome dessert, you're gonna want to try Crave after dinner one night. Just look them up one facebook or instagram. You can thank me later. Also strangebrew just opened here two weeks ago.

As for entertainment - Blue Canoe usually has good music and great beer selection. If you have young kids with you, they are having "movie in the park" saturday night at Ballard park where they set up a big screen & show a movie. I think WWE is here Sunday night. And you might be able to watch the Mayweather / McGregor fight somewhere Saturday if you call around (just don't try Bdubs - they don't show ppv stuff).

Also, I think there are a few Uber drivers around here on the weekends now if you need that.

Park Heights is garbage... might as well eat at applebees and spend less. stop by Papa V's the gas station and buy you some 1817 beer before you leave, support a local brewery/bulldog... I'll second KOK as a good dining experience.

In no particular order, my top 5 restaurant recommendations:

(1) Neon Pig
(2) Blue Canoe
(3) The Stables (if you like dive bars)
(4) Kermit's Outlaw Kitchen
(5) Woody's (if you want something more upscale -- I agree with the other poster who said that Park Heights is very overrated)

Other honorable mentions include Vanelli's (if you want pizza), Don Julios (if you want Mexican), U&ME Asian Grocery (if you want Asian Food), and BBQ by Jims (if you want BBQ).

Although I don't exactly get out much, there are numerous bars around downtown -- I would recommend at least checking out the Thirsty Devil for some cool decor.
