AI seems to dominate the stock market gains and tech news lately. Discuss the costs and benefits of using AI here.

I just watched Geoffrey Hinton, the "Godfather of A.I" interviewed this morning and he stated that AI is already much more intelligent than the brightest minds in the world. He's worried about more intelligent things (AI) being controlled by much less intelligent things. "AI will be able to deceive us".

Tech types have a long history of overestimating the quality of their products snd then pushing them out on the world. I doubt many types of AI are more intelligent than humans. Humans can drive cars, computers still can't.

AI can now pass the NY State Bar. AI can drive cars just not with a 100% success rate.

It's the breadth of what it knows that is the difference & with each update it's depth of knowledge & reasoning improve a great deal. Individuals may have better depth of knowledge in some certain areas, but these AI large language models and agents cover a wide wide range of topics.
