I'm in the process of a moveand I'm in a hotel without AMC. I do have wireless network and a laptop PC and I'm thinking of watching it via download from Amazon.com tomorrow. Has anyone tried doing this, and if so, how did it work for you?

WOW. Shane forced the issue. Didn't think he'd go that far.

Then...

So everybody is a carrier. Or Shane got it through open wounds, but I doubt that.

Hell of an episode. Best one of the season.

Everyone is a carrier. I think dying by head wound is the only way you don't come back.

Its going to be intriguing to see how they set up the season finale next Sunday. I'm still perplexed as to why I have been so taken in by this series. I usually would not have given this type of show the time of day. I have always hated this kind of stuff. But I have been completely captivated by this series and it pisses me off that next week is the end of the season. Unlike next weeks' NIT game.

I can see T-Dog, Carol, and maybe some of Herschel's people going down. I am about ready for them to split the farm. Next season should be a blast if they follow any of the story arcs in the books.

and needless to say the most intense episode this season(until next week). And that sort of solidified theeveryone becomes a zombie that still has a brain when they die theory...Shane was literally 2-3 minutes.

Best episode yet. Kind of disappointed that the subtle Shane/Darryl conflict that was developing never came to a head, but the Shane/Rick standoff was intense. Can't wait for next week. When does next season start?

Did he not clearly point the gun at Rick before Shane got back up? Why would he do that? Also couldn't help but chuckle as he capped Shane right between the eyes from 40 ft away. Just a tad unrealistic. Still a phenomenal episode overall and the best one since the season 1 finale

it's been hinted at for a while. rick going back and shooting the two guys at the bar in the head, the two cops with no bites and shooting dale in the head also. didn't understand the quick zombie flashes they were showing towards the end when rick was kneeling by shane, maybe that's what was going thru shanes dead brain? anxious to see who dies next week. i'm guessing t 'one line per week' dawg, herschell and one of his daughters.

with zombies being killed by a blow to the head, of course. Its not that much different than other shows in alot of ways.<div>

I guess the network thought him killing Shane while he was alive was a little to much to show on TV. Him offing him while he was a walker, not a problem. Shane played a great role as Rick's antagonist, but they had to make room for Rick's real enemy for next season.

As much as I hate to see this season end I'm looking forward to the arrival of the new characters next season. Michonne, the Gov and others....I'm guessing T-Dog is going to serve the role as Tyresse unless he shows up later. If you think the past two seasons were good, next season has the possibility of being epic.

Everytime you think the writers let something slip they answer the question in the next show. Just like some of the questions surrounding how the walker got on the farm last week. The swamp that was protecting the farm is now drying up with thedrier weather of fall arriving. I noticed that pretty quick because I remembered some on here questioning it last week.

When Shane was face-to-face with Randall in the shed, it seemed quite intentional the way they showed the cuts on Randall's wrists from the cuffs, and the almost epiphany-like, wheels-in-motion, of Shane's thought process.<div>
</div><div>Now, flash back to a few episodes ago--the two dead officers. Rick stated that if you looked closely you could see scratches on their faces. This foreshadowed his struggle later in the episode when he was pinned down by a dead walker and the other zombie was close to scratching him. They also conveniently started using their knifes in this episode to kill walkers.</div><div>
</div><div>So--I know this isn't as sexy as a "everyone is a carrier" theory, but could Shane have simply wiped his knife blade (or found some other walker blood) on Randall's wrists? And then when Rick killed Shane w/ his knife--could it not have been that Rick's knife was simply contaminated?</div><div>
</div><div>If I'm missing something here please fill me in. But this just seems too logical to me to ignore.</div>

Its not a theory. In the books everyone is a carrier. If you die you come back unless shot/stabbed/smashed in the head.

Maybe. But to me everyone else is way over-thinking it, refusing to look at an obvious way of getting infected.

Well, I'll just say that I've read the synopsis for the finale and what Hammudog said is correct. I've always felt that it was pretty obvious though especially if you've read the graphic novels.

To turn into a walker. He even says his plan to cover up Ricks death was to blame the kid on the shooting then break the kids neck after he caught him(which he had already done). I haven't read the books so I can only assume Shane had no clue about them all being carriers while Rick was informef by the Doc last season. The two others finding the kid being turned with no bites should corroborate Ricks story about how Shane died....twice but he might be having to come off that secret soon.

Easily best of the season. Mixed feelings about Shane. I really wanted Rick and him to get along because Shane was a badass and they need every badass they can keep. But Shane was such an idiot. Did he really think Rick would just let him lead him into a trap and kill him?

Next week should be epic. The farm is about to be stormed by the zombie mob. Should be lots of head poppin going on. And you just know there are going to be more deaths. Who is going to be the next to go? The blond chick might just freak out about Shane and beg Rick to kill her too.

Shane was killed in the comics before they even left Atlanta. Same situation, out in the woods with Rick and Carl shoots him dead. They don't find out until later that they come back regardless if they are bitten. Which leads Rick to go dig up Shane's body and shoot him in the head as a zombie. I actually like the show much more than the comics. Not as bleak and the story line flows much better. Can't wait for the finale.

When they were at the fence and the two guard came up and they cut their hands to put blood on the fence the stab them in the head then later when shane was in the bus he did it again. He could have gotten infected then. I agree that everyone has it but Shane was acting kind of funny as if he had the active virus and it was taking over.

Just a very clever device used to show that Shane was becoming a walker. Don't feel bad, a lot of people were confused by this. I liked it a lot however, as I thought it was super creepy, and great foreshadowing for what was about to happen.

Saw some screen shots of it and it looks incredibly cool. Looks like it is based more on the books and is supposed to be alot more than just blowing the heads off of zombies.

Disclaimer: Yes I am a geek and I know it.

Even if you did have to have a cut/scratch to contract the virus, pretty much everyone on the show has been clawed or sliced at some point so they're all carriers either way.

That's a good point about Shane's head though. When he was in the barn with Randall, he was clearly struggling with his thoughts. Was that just him being torn apart by the love triangle and his conflict with Rick or was it the virus starting to take over?

but if you could catch it that easily, several of the people still alive would have already been infected (like when shane cut himself and kept rubbing his hand where the zombies had been licking. Until I found out that everyone is a carrier, I was actually annoyed by how many characters with open wounds were fighting hand to hand with walkers without getting infected.

but for me, the scene where it showed Randall's wrists was only done so Shane could feel like he had confirmed that Randall was trying to escape and kill everybody. Once he saw that, it became clear to him that Rick was only going to get everyone killed so he decided that he was going to put an end to it.
