The only exposure I have to Watchmen was the movie, which I thought was fantastic...and that is an understatement. That said, I'm confused by the trailer having no exposure to the comics aside from the movie. Is Rorschach a villain or the leader of some group? Definitely intrigued to see what the deal is and learn more about it. I'm a big fan of the dark super heroes rife with internal conflict, so I'm in for sure

I feel like the movie is really underrated. I almost always stop on it whenever I see it on.

I believe I read something that the HBO series takes place like 25 or so years in the future from the original Watchman story. I think the masked group almost worship Rorschach.

Agree. It's the rare "super hero" movie that I don't hate (the most recent Batman series being pretty much the only other ones I don't hate).

I think it is Zack Snyder's best movie. It has a great use of a soundtrack in the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy reminds me of it.

I thought it was great also. The only problem is that Snyder has tried to duplicate the tone of Watchmen with everything else he's done, which doesn't fit the whole of the DC Universe.

I’m in the same boat. I basically watched the Watchmen movie because someone forced me to do it, but it’s now one of my all time favorites as far as comics go.

That’s said, I couldn’t quite figure out what we were supposed to take away from the trailer. I mean, clearly it was focused on some cult, but who are the good guys in this series? Any of the same characters from the movie or will this somehow be a new cast of heroes?

The big difference from the movie and the graphic novel is that in the move Dr. Manhattan is the one that catches the blame for everything, in the graphic novel there is a giant space squid or something. Either way, it was all a farce to stop the doomsday clock and keep everyone from killing each other.

The series is sometime after this. I'm assuming the cult is related to Rorschach sending his journal to the news so that the truth would be exposed... and they idolize him for doing so.
