We are getting close to the new beer laws going into effect. What do you think will be available by the time the 4th rolls around that wasn't before? I'm expecting some of Abitas stuff like Andygator to be available but that's just a hunch. I have heard about a few more Yazoo beers that might be around but we don't get any of their stuff up here in Tupelo as is. Anyone else hear anything or know what to expect right off the bat? I was living in Alabama when their laws changed and it seemed like it took a while fore things to get in stock.

I would only expect to find higher gravity brews from brands that are already in distribution. The distributor will wait to see how well those sell before he brings in other labels.

I would imagine the Alabama and Georgia labels will be the first to come after the distributors get comfortable with the market.

so what is the production capacity issue?
Yuengling is literally at capacity serving the markets they have now, and I have heard no comments or rumors on expansion, they are happy to be in the markets they are in and are not looking to further their reach.

I am a fan of yuengling myself, but we have plenty other great beers in MS now, and are getting plenty more.

The reason I like yuengling is that it's a cheap beer that actually has taste. I definitely like some other beers more but if you don't want to spend $10/sixpack it's a good option as it's about the same as Miller/Bud pricewise. It's a great everyday beer.<div>
</div><div>Your list looks pretty impressive. Do you expect that statewide or just in Jackson? Tupelo is getting some stores/bars that seem to be aggressive when it comes to fulfilling the need for better beer. Blue Canoe, Neon Pig and Papa V's (gas station) are doing a good job of promoting some of the better beers now offered. Hopefully they'll be quick to offer some of the new brews.

This list is just what I know is hitting jackson from the local distributors, but any distributor that already have Abita, Sierra Nevada, ETC... should be getting the same from them.

Because of an abundance of rednecks and non-drinkers and old people, there is only one store in my town that sells stuff like sierra nevada, leinenkugel(sp), rogue, flying dog, etc. I don't expect this law to really change my life at all unless I leave town. Sucks.

Either way, it is a very cheaply made beer and is not affected by this law at all. If yuengling wanted to sell in MS, they could have already.

Darker might be a better term, Yuengling is no where near anything I would call dark beer, although I'm not a fan of that term anyway since people like to lump anything dark brown/black as a dark beer and there are literally dozens of styles in that color range.

are coming to Papa V's in Tupelo on July 3 according to a sign on their cooler. I have not found a wider selection of beer in the state. Plus they have a dozen or so taps to fill growlers.

I haven't had one from there in a while though. It was a bit of a hassle to get someone to come pour one for me and when they did they didn't seem to know how to work it. I'm sure they've got the hang of it by now. I saw the same Ft. Collins Brewery sign at Neon Pig. I had forgotten about that.

headed to Florida this weekend and can't wait to throw back several Yuengling while on the beach. I'm a miller lite guy, but I like to mix in a few Yuengling to add more flavor. I literally will not drink Bud Light or Coors Light any morebecauseit's like drinking flavored water.

Miller Lite is my number one most hated beer. Coors Light is my everyday beer oddly enough because I think it has a little flavor while ML tastes like water...different strokes I guess

which is why all three are great beach/golf beers. Notice I did not say all three are great overall beers. They are great for what they are when used appropriately.

very few people drink 12 dark craft beers at one sitting. However, drinking one or two as a starter then drinking "everyday" beer is much more enjoyable..

I have a fridge full of craft beer. People would think that's all I drink but I rarely drink more than 2-3 at a time. I usually switch to Coors Lights after a few.

of home brew, craft, and always a little bit of the High Life (nostalgia). No way I can sit by the pool or play 18 holes while drinking 5 Double IPAs.

$180/month and God only knows what the side effects are - I'll probably grow another ear and mythingy will fall off.

But it stopped mygout and I can continue to drink beer in moderation. But no hot dogs or baloney.
