He's been in town filming a movie, along with a few other celebs. Apparently, he's going to do some PR and fundraising work for the sheriff's department. Pretty cool.

Celebrity who respects and has an interest in law enforcement.

In town to shoot a movie, likes the area, decides to help out the local department. Purely ceremonial of course, but it can help them raise some money and is at least some good publicity. What exactly shocks you about it? Or does anything dealing with the city of Jackson just make some of you act like douchebags?

DB? I didn't say anything negative about Jackson. I'm from Miss.

Well several things:
-an actor in jackson.
-that it made it on yahoo news or in an article
-an actor publicly being sworn into law enforcement
-usually when they're in the news about Miss it's to say something negative, or them complaining about the state.
-or it's race related like almost every hollywood movie depicts it.

I found it interesting, shocking, and surprising on several levels. I think it is great that he is helping local police departments.

Anthony Bourdain was also in town last week.
I heard he was filming for one of his shows. Big Apple Inn and Does in Greenville.

Bourdain, Jagger, and Aykroyd all were having dinner at Walkers last Wednesday night.
A friend of mine was there for his birthday and when they brought out his cake the three all sang HB to him...

BTW..They are all gone from MS now...

it is for the james brown movie. apparently he has ties to crystal head vodka and was signing bottles at the lakeland drive/ridgewood's "the quarter" liquor store over where the old mushots used to be. one of the jackson news stations did a snippet of it on the evening news a week ago.

He's one of the main investing partners...

Also, and I just saw this on their website, they are doing some sort of partnership with the Stones 50th anniversary boxed set.... so that tied in nicely with Mick as well.
