Loooooong time reader, first time poster. Go easy on me. We have a tobacco store in Jackson (which will remain nameless out of respect for DS's advertisers)... and we are about to order some stogies for the new year. Looking specifically for a price point of under $10 right now. What do my Dawg brethren prefer to puff on in that price range?

No, we will not be carrying Swishers or B&M's for you to "get your smoke on"...

Hail State!</p>

my under $10 go to selection would consist of any of the Oliva line, the Excalibur, and Romeo y Juliet...and maybe the Cain maduro or CAO maduro.

Over $10 for me, my go to is the VSG but I save that for special occasions.

Gave up smoking many, many years ago, but the Macs were always a very popular cigar. Believe it is one of the best-selling, as well.

Macanudos are my favorite. Olivias, Rocky Patel Edge, Vegas 5, and Acids to name a few.

Pm me your store name.

Really? I usually smoke the 6 x 48(?) size and it's usually priced from $7-9. The maduros are like $20 tho.

I pick them up at Christmas for $9-$10. The Casa Magna oscuro is very nice for $6-$7. The Punch double maduro runs around $5, they aren't great out of the box but they age very well. The Cain maduros are also good in the $6-$8 range.

I have a 1970 Cheratan Supreme Extra Large straight grain Freestyle. Still has great color in the burl.

How much is it worth? I don't smoke anymore. Came from Country Squire in Jackson. Any interest?

I believe they are all under $10. I was bouncing around most of the brands mentioned here until I got a grab pack with one of these sticks. Haven't bought anything else in nearly a year, good stuff.

Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra. But it's not for the faint of heart! If you're not used to a full body cigar, go with the Macanudo.

They are usually around 8-10 bucks I believe, and they are pretty awesome and mild for casual smokers.

I think theCAO's are good. They have several options, I like the brazil one. They are around 5-6 bucks on cigars international. Also you don't have to spend$10 a cigar to get a good one. You can get some Carlos Torano Dominaco's for $2 bucks a stick when you buy 20 and it sounds like you are buying several.

Padrons are also a good choice. Good Luck!

It is also very full bodied. That is my preference along with the Oliva V as a staple, but if someone prefers mild to medium they won't like this stick.

Depends on the person. Rocky Patels Sungrown is a great mild to medium. Just depends on preference.

I prefer it ... if you don't like taking the smoke straight to your upper palate then through your nose, your wasting your time trying to appreciate a good cigar.. learn to do it like you like it...experiment with what YOU like vs others.. take the amount of smoke that is appropriate for YOUR personal preference and enjoy... it should not be something you like doing because you like doing it amongst others...cigar smoking has a PURE personal satisfaction.. that I can ASSURE you...

I have never had any cigar as good as those produced by the New Orleans Cigar Factory. Located on Decatur in the FQ. They have a store on Bourbon but its better to buy from the one on decatur. Priced anywhere from 8-16$ individually, they give you a 30% discount on a box of 10 (mix and match) and 40% on a box of 25. I still order them online and have them shipped. They come in a nice box with fresh tobacco leaves on top to keep them moist.<div>
</div><div>I have had Cuban Cohibas and Partagas, and think the Dominican versions are just as good. NOLA Cigar factory medium cameroon wrapped are still my favorite. They have a Mardi Gras version torpedo which cant be cut by a standard 50gauge cigar cutter and is a solid 4 hour cigar.</div>
