the Smokestack in West Point. They have cleared out a cooler for new high gravity. Tallgrass 8 bit, most of the Rogue HG stuff (John John, Dad's Little Helper, Double Dead Guy. etc.), Redbrick Hoplanta, Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA, and if you like Trappist Ales they have Rochefort. If you have not tried it, the Rochefort 8 is amazing. <div>
</div><div>Edited to correct: Rochefort will be at the Smokestack July 12. And please tell Phil that Golden Triangle Brewers sent you.</div>

Southaven officially sucks. No one has any of the higher alcohol beer yet. The one beer store I was counting on having it hasn't even placed an order. Even Fox and the Hound, which has a big beer selection, doesn't have any new offerings.

All I found at the beer store next to Corky's liquor store was Red Brick's Hoplanta (six pack) and Abita's Vanilla Doubledog (single, big bottles only).. Both are pretty solid brews. I haven't been anywhere else yet.

nothing earth shattering. As most people have already stated...the brands are going to stay the same, just more models of those brands. I'll check out the Smokestack in WPtomorrow.

Mcdades and Hops and Habana's can't keep enough stock on the shelves. Huge fail by Capital City and Southern Beverage...
Maybe in a month or two they will have it figured out.

At least in Rankin County. I think they're trying to cover it up by appeasing everyone with big new shipments of Strawberry Harvest. I'm not sure if they're even going to be getting high gravity stuff.

Phil was stocking the shelves with a pretty large new shipment. Additions include several new Shipyard labels (smashed pumpkin, imperial porter etc), Oval, Southampton Burton IPA and Pilsner, Samuel Smith Imperial Stout, and Rochefort 6 and 8 which I did not think would be in until July12. If you have not done so, do yourself a favor and try the Rochefort. Phill said he is getting more labels in every day. It said his stock should even be more tomorrow. <div>
</div><div>Edited to add that he had several others in singles that I just can't remember. I know I saw a strong Scotch Ale and a couple more Belgian styles like dubbels.</div>

Went there on 7/2. The didn't have much high gravity. Mainly Andygator and a couple of Rogues. They did say they were trying to get CHIMAY (!!!) from their distributor.

Nonetheless, I was pleasantly shocked at their "low gravity" selection. They had stuff I didn't know could be bought in MS. I bought more from that stock than from what little high gravity they had.

For now.... Those Big Rouges are 17.99 each..
Re-loaed with a case of Jackamo, a sixer of Hoplanta, and one Rouge Morimoto Imperial Pilsner..
Can't wait until after work to try the Hoplanta and Rouge Morimoto..
