OT: Why do people have such hatred for Apple products?

I absolutely love using it. That's what made me finally switch over to the iPod many-a moon ago. Now I hate that they stopped allowing it to store other items, but I'm guessing they did that to limit the DRM abuse. If there's a better digital music program, I'd like to know about it. Don't give me the WMP either. I don't even crank that booger up.<div>Like others, I can't stand that I can't watch flash video on my iPod Touch and iPhone. That should be fixed.</div>

With Apple you get a high-quality, overpriced product that you don't have to worry about.

A few months back i was shopping for a new laptop. I ended up with a system for half the price of the equivalent Mac, and no i don't have Windows problems with it because i have at least a moderate knowledge of how to use a computer. but to get that price i had to learn way more about current components than i wanted to, knowing exactly what i needed and no more. it took a good bit of time too.

at about the same time, i wanted to upgrade my cell phone. i didn't want to bother educating myself on galaxies and droid etc, nor did i want to spend much time switching all my stuff over to a new phone etc, so i just upgraded to a refurbished iPhone 4 (from a 3GS, and yes to whoever asked, it's worth it for the processor speed alone, my 3GS couldn't handle the new apps or games).

My Apple products just work, which is what I need for my work. No reinstalling the OS every 6 months because it is full of crap from the internet and corrupt files.

That being said, I would only use Dell blades for setting up an IT organization for business. I would not use Apple servers. Dell customer service is great.

Speaking of Apple Customer Service, there is a reason why it is #1 again and that is a large part of the reason there is a somewhat "cult" following for Apple users. When you get the best service, you tend to stick with it.

Other than that, the "war" between Apple and PC is overblown in my opinion. Pros in any field tend to find out what works best for their business and that is what they use and stick with.

I am a reluctant Apple user (Ipod and Iphone), and while they have a great product for the most part, here's a couple of big reasons why they piss me off sometimes:

1.) Have a problem with your iphone or ipod? You can't just walk in, lay it on the counter and get help. You have to schedule an appointment with the a "genius." No Apple, that isn't the way this works. I buy your product, it has a problem I come in, you fix it, I'm not trying to schedule a physical or get a prescription. I hate that ****.

2.) Your iPod breaks or just stops working for some reason and you didn't buy ******** insurance? Apple wont fix it for you, or even allow you to pay to get it fixed, instead, you have to "exchange" it for an upgrade, which really means they give you about 40 bucks off a brand new one. Thanks Apple.

3.) Software updates slowing iphones down to a halt, this was a huge problem with the iphone 3. Iphone 3 was working perfectly till one day, a fter a required software update, my iphone slowed to a halt. Could barely get on the internet or play a game. This just happened to be a couple months after the 4 came out. Apple's response to this problem? "There's not much we can do but we'd be glad to schedule an appointment with a genius. 17 you overweight college drop out with a beard and hemp necklace.

strike one is that their products are priced higher than the equivalent.

to make #3 worse, i avoided that update (to iOS 4) because i had heard that it would slow down your 3GS. then, after a few months Apple makes iOS 4 a requirement to update any apps or download new ones.

a still have a 17ing black and white Gameboy that works the same as it did the day it was bought. Apple products can't say that, because Apple intentionally sabotages them to make you buy new ones. that's fine for a phone that i barely spent any up-front money on anyway (but probably not for my next upgrade as the competition has significantly closed the gap), but for anything else that's just a deal killer. 17 virises, Apple doesn't need them, Apple kills their own products.
