I travel a lot for my job but when I don't, I work from an office in my home. I've done it for years, but it took me some time getting used to it. All things being equal, I'd prefer to go into an office. There are times that it is super convenient to work from home, though.

I worked from home for two companies for over ten years. It takes some discipline but it has advantages. I would love to have a part time job from home but it’s impossible to find a legit lead.

I work with quite a few people who work from home. There are advantages, but they do seem to spend extra time working overall because interaction takes longer. If you don't have aspirations of moving into upper management then it works for a lot of people. For those who want to move up, it is hard to network from home. People you work with know you, but it is hard to build those relationships from home.

I’m either “in the field” or working from home. It’s nice, but make sure you can stay busy. A slow day at the office when you work from home usually means basically 0 productivity.

A lot of sales jobs are from home. Just takes discipline. The freedom is awesome. Can dictate your own schedule. I'm usually "still working" if the phone rings, but done by lunch on fridays.

I’m an attorney and have worked out of my home office for 8 years. Like others have said, it takes discipline. Once I consistently began to treat it like a 9-5 it became easier. I still find myself having to work nights occasionally, but am unsure if the cause of that is because I’m an attorney or that I work from home.

Overall there are many positives to working from home, but the main negative is lack of face to face interaction with others.

Sounds like she’s been on Facebook and a friend is trying to sign her up for a pyramid scheme :cough: I mean multi level marketing.

I think Wizard is asking about self employment at home working as a contractor for a third party, like "stuffing envelopes". We have tried a few but have had minimal success. The key is to remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't. We tried Amazon marketing and scholarship finding.

I know a few people who are medical coders (whatever that is) that work from home. I believe they make decent money considering they don’t have to leave the house.

Started a new gig in August where I work from home when I’m not traveling. I tend to get more done by not being in office believe it or not. But also there are times where I pop over to our Atlanta office for a few days and the face to face time can be very beneficial when properly planned (scheduling to work on collaborative stuff instead of just “being in the office”). Overall I really enjoy it. I’m a financial services consultant.

I work from home about 3-4 days a week.

In the O&G Industry in TX and my boss got sick of commuting 1-1.5 hrs one way in Houston traffic to come sit at a desk and be on the phone all day so we swapped to remote work. Just had our best year ever so it has had zero negative effect on the “team” dynamic. Saves me a ton of time and makes life a lot easier on my wife and me. A lot more companies are moving towards the flexible work schedules.

Yes kind of like that but really just wanting to know if there is anything out there that is real and offers consistent pay like a real job.

Im a fully remote software engineer.

After almost 10years of not using my degree after college, I attended a coding immersive program that took 3 months with the sole intention of getting a remote job. Worked out perfectly and I’m now a salaried employee with full benefits that’s fully remote. I’ve worked from Europe multiple times and all across the US.

A few of my friends from the immersive are the same way. One has been traveling the world while making 6 figures as a remote engineer.

PM me if you’re interested in resources to learn to code/program online for free. It might seem far-fetched, but it’s totally doable.

I am setup to where that I can work from home if i need to. Which can be awesome at times and it has its own advantages. The only drawback is the interaction with co-workers. So I very rarely do it, but working all day without pants on is quite nice.
