agree! I missed the first half of the game. Was the pulling of Hill pre-mature? or was he getting slammed and just lucky to have only given up 1 run?
I think that having a closer who usually pitches only one inning pitch two is really risky. But teams seem to love to do it in post-season baseball.
yeah, seemed more about taking out the guy who was in beforehand than wanting to get Jansen in for a portion of that 2nd inning. So many decisions but maybe they could have brought someone else in to finish the 8th and start jansen for the 9th.
Hopefully they'll build a big lead going into the 9th next time and let him take a night off and use someone else to close.

I was a huge Astros fan in the late 70's/early 80's, when they always seemed to have dominant pitching, but no hitting.

There were 8 home runs in the game, a post season record. There were 5 homers in extra innings, which has never happened in any game, much less a post-season game, in baseball history.
Roberts took out Hill, because he didn't want him to face the lineup for the 3rd time, based on the numbers. The problem came when he misused the bullpen, starting with Maeda, taking those guys out too quickly.

Loved Mike Scott, but he didn't really hit his stride until the mid-80's, when he mastered the split-fingered fastball.
so you undoubtedly remember the 6th game of the Houston-Mets championship playoff in 1986, when the Mets scrambled to beat Houston so that they wouldn't have to face Scott for a third time in a 7th game. Scott was lights-out in that series.

The last time I had this much fun watching a World Series was in 1997 when the Florida Marlins beat the Cleveland Indians in six games. Both the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers of putting on one heck of a show. I'm not much of a baseball fan but for this world series I've been glued to the TV. I want to thank this great country for giving us such entertainment for free.

Ok. Game 7 tonight. I have no idea who is going to win ,and neither does anyone else, but I have to think another crazy, exciting game is in store for all of us.

Got over Yankees ALCS game 7 loss quick and jumped into this Series head first and what a great WS. Best since Cincy/Red Sox?

Wow, baseball really has fallen. A classic 7-game World Series gets one page and English Premier League threads get several pages? I was a baseball fanatic until my Rutgers years and then kind of lost interest. Hated free agency and found Rutgers sports. But I still enjoy a good baseball game and this series has been really good.
Anyway, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the Dodgers wouldn't have started probably the best pitcher in baseball, Kershaw, even on 3 days rest, instead of Darvish. Looks like he could've gone at least 6 innings. Could've been a 1-0 game right now. Oh well.
