Dont know how many of you watch "rasslin" but the new WWE network is awesome. Every PPV ever. Cool watching the ones from when I was a kid.

Word. I may not sleep for the next month.

Watched some WCCW today, little bit of WrestleMania. Hoping to get into the old Starrcades soon.

That's around when WCW ruled

Monday Nitro. Goldberg. NWO. Sting in the rafters. I was so disappointed when Dusty Rhodes went to the dark side.

good times.

I grew up with a very diverse array of people. Rankin county, so some very privileged, and some not at all, but I do not know a single person who watched/watches wrasslin. I would say it is an age gap, but I'm 30 so probably fall in the same age range as many of you. Just seems strange.

I'm close to 30 and it was huge when I was younger. It was huge from kids to adults, age has nothing to do with it and I too hung around a wide range of 'class' of people. That was during the hay day of wrestling, everyone and their mama knew who stone cold steve austin was. If wrestling was like that today i'd watch it.

The Monday Night Wars was a golden age that I'm afraid will never be repeated. You had two mega-companies pulling out all the stops every night to bury the other, and it made for some awesome tv. It's still hard to believe what used to happen each week on Monday Night Raw.

I realize that the infrastructure doesn't exist today to make this possible, but I can easily see the SEC Network moving to a similar model during the next 10-20 years. It's a brilliant scheme when it comes down to it. It's substantially cheaper for consumers, it's more easily accessible than cable/satellite tv, and WWE now gets 100% of the profits as compared to ~ 50% when they had to split revenue with providers.

Again, comparing SEC sports and televising numerous events per week to a couple events per week in WWE is apples and oranges at the moment, but rest assured that the powers that be are already talking about this.

I know a guy that just earned his masters and is enrolling in a doctorate program to get his Dr. in, get this, "Library Sciences" He's a total book nerd, wants to be curator of a museum and there is NO rassslin fan anywhere more loyal than he is or knows more trivia. He definitely doesn't fit the mold of typical rasslin fan.

There are some very diverse wrestling fans.

In fact, there is a guy who posts here every once in a while. Tremendous MSU fan. Will be one of the 10 or so largest MSU donors according to some university publication I read. He has been a huge wrestling fan since I have known him. Maybe not as much as he once was. Still goes to Wrestlemania and such.

I guess they come in all shapes sizes colors and backgrounds.

I don't know anybody who watches it either, but somebody does because they have huge crowds when they have live events. I just can't see watching the fakery, and them pretending it's real.

You aren't supposed to pretend like its real

Hell, even the WWE passes it off as entertainment.

Agreed. I'd love it if WWE found/acquired some of the old Gulf Coast Wrestling programming...
