How did I not know that Bill Eadie, who was Ax from Demolition attended and played football at WVU?

Was just listening to a wrestling podcast and they mentioned it - it was a podcast on professional wrestling.

Did any of you guys know him?

Demolition was my favorite tag team as a kid. I cant believe I never knew this before.

I didn’t know that either.

It was before my time, but their match against Hart Foundation at Summerslam 1990 is one of my favorite matches of all time since I became a huge fan of Bret Hart in the late 90s growing up.

I watched that pay per view live (at home). My parents would get me Summerslam as part of my birthday gift. I would have been 8.

Ive read he is from Ohio but also Brownsville, which is an old PA town near Uniontown.

Really surprised me because I'm a big fan of him and Demolition...I knew he was a teacher but didn't know he had WVU ties.

My dad traveled a lot when I was a kid for work and would frequently run into wrestlers in airports and hotel bars. He got me a bunch of autographs, but nothing Demolition. I saw them wrestler several times when they did house shows in my hometown.

Since you mentioned podcast, I’d recommend listening to Something to Wrestle With (w/ Bruce Pritchard) and What Happened When (w/Tony Schiovane). Conrad Thompson hosts both of them and he’s pretty funny and they talk a lot about 80-90s wrestlers and PPVs. I believe the STWW one did a specific episode on just Demolition.

Mark Canterbury (Henry O Godwinn) is from WV as well and he’s mentioned a lot due to Brawl For All and for being in the Godwinn family in WWF. That one I found surprising as well. Dude was built like a monster.

Something to Wrestle With was where I heard about Ax/WVU, actually..

Love STWW...especially any of the 80s and early 90s episodes and the episodes about individual wrestlers. Pretty much listened to every episode. Listened to the Bob Backlund episode this morning.

I can't get into what happened when, i like Shiavonne as a ring guy but he isnt the storyteller Bruce is...and the episodes never seem to stay on track.

Conrad alap does a podcast with Jim Ross. The episode about Ultimate Warrior was real good, and the one about Crush was too.

I will check out the Brawl for All episode....didnt know that Canterbury was from WV. I just was The Dark Side of The Ring (tv show) they did on brawl for all but he wasn't mentioned much.

his Wiki site doesn't say anything about any college. WVUStats.com doesn't show him either.

I found a wiki overview page that says WVU is his alma mater and a Pakersburg newspaper article that says he played under Bobby Bowden.

If you search Bill Eadie, WVU, some bits come up.

I liked the earlier episodes of STWW. After a while, I think it started to do a dip in quality as compared to the first year of that podcast. Maybe it’s because Bruce started back with WWE and just didn’t want to go in as much depth as he used to. I like the Schiovane one because it goes completely off the rails and becomes a comedy, but I’ll admit that it took a little while to warm up to.

After watching the Vice Brawl for All episode, i Realize why a lot of wrestlers didn’t like JR. He’s iconic but he’s not as saintly as fans make him out to be.

the old Bischoff podcast that he does with Conrad just involved him saying “I don’t know” or “I can’t remember”, even though I enjoy when Eric talks about the financial stuff and he’s even talked positive about WCW coming to WV and the local tristate area.

That KO punch Butterbean gave Bart Gunn looked God damn vicious. I felt bad for him...

How the hell did they put on of their wrestlers in a real fight with a guy like Butterbean? You're suppose to protect these guys.

Makes me think they didnt like the outcome of BFA and wanted to squash Gunn...looked like his head fully spun.
