Every one is talking about NIL and player movement...

So many coaches are moving,too.

Call it evenly..

The coaching carousel is rampant every year for the last 3 decades that’s nothing new

That’s one of the reasons the changes to the transfer portal even came about… coaches getting free movement but players getting penalized if their coach leaves. That’s mainly why the sit out rule was eliminated.

True! Thanks for pointing that out.

It makes it more fair. Coaches can't complain about the climate if they are doing the same thing...lol

Is Xavier truly a better gig than New Mexico? Just curious
absolutely

for starters the money the Big East gets dwarfs the Mountain West which is being gutted by the new Pac 12. They are losing San Diego State, Boise State, Utah State, Colorado State and Fresno State while gaining some others...the conference will fall in stature.

then you have this

NCAA tournament Elite Eight 2004, 2008, 2017
NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteen 1990, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2023
NCAA tournament appearances 1961, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2023, 2025

Xavier has a strong rabid fanbase and is a better job than Rutgers because of its history of excellence at a high level and probably most important its stability and longevity of success and the RU job comes with so many built in negatives to scare people away

Thanks. Forgot about the new PAC Whatever. But now that I remember, I also seem to recall that UNM and UNLV were asked to join it but declined. I thought that was kind of strange. Maybe the MWC is giving them a bigger share?

I'm sure we'll never get the full details but curious why he chose Xavier over Villanova? Did Xavier offer a richer contract and higher NIL budget? I know Villanova football isn't FBS but it is one of the better FCS programs in the country so I wonder if they're getting a decent chunk of the school funded NIL?

You'll get the details when Williard is named the Nova coach after he is eliminated
