He beat Watters last night. Wins against Zerben and Watters in his first 2 matches at 157.
I guess he knew what he was doing. I will say that Zerban and Watters have felt a little over-ranked this year. I think 157 will come down to Duke, Robideau, and Larkin. Lots of other proven talent but if I was a betting man, I'd bet on the pups.

Far be it from me to defense Iowa or the Brands bros, but I think it’s important to remember Endene did something similar last year with Wisconsin. Shows up on campus to wrestle and then *poof* gone just like that.

Iowa has a tough decision on their hands. They need to move on from TnT if they want to compete for national championships in the future.

PSU won every big matchup and were dominant in a few others. The difference between the two teams was stark and has to be alarming to Iowa fans.

Provo upset V. Robinson last night in the Stanford v. NCST dual.

While largely true I think we’re forgetting just how dang good PSU is.

No question but if you are Iowa, you are asking what has happened to Ayala? Why hasn’t Kueter developed and what are we getting with the money invested in the portal this offseason?
If I were an Iowa fan the thing that would concern me is not just how passively they wrestled, but how passively they were coached. Brands said not sending out Kennedy was the best for him and the team. But that kind of passive approach was echoed by too many on the team.

It was a beat down but if we wrestled Penn St. in a dual this year, we would get pounded into the mat also. Based on rankings we would be the favorite in 1 weight class and that would be at 141. We are a lot younger than Iowa and so our potential is much higher especially with our 26 recruiting class. I would not think of trading our program for theirs, but they have beaten us a bunch of times in a row including this year. Every match i was pulling for Iowa because Penn. St. is our real enemy. Also Jax means we might win another match but Blaze against Jax is very close. I still think we should have Jax wrestle 5 and redshirt. We will be much better next year then this year. Next year we should beat Iowa like drum.

I actually thought Iowa Wrestled them pretty tough outside of a few let downs.

PSU is an absolute juggernaut right now. If we were to Wrestle them in a dual, it would be a similar result. That said, I think we’d make it seem closer. We could steal bouts at 25, 33,41, 57 and HW….actually the only two guys that look unbeatable in a dual are MM and Bar.

Id still expect a 20-30 to 3-12 with much more entertainment than knee sliding around the mat in neutral.

I think we match up much better against Penn State than Iowa does. I could see us winning 4 of 10 weights.

I’ve ready that Iowa’s money man (some guy named Bob) is one of the main reasons TnT are still running the ship there. Many of Hawk fans would like to see a coaching change but the money goes if TnT are forced to leave.

It sure could happen but based on rankings that would not happen. I made that opinion based on flow rankings and yes Jax is at least as good as Blaze but they are very close. We would have a chance at 125 and 157 but last summer I saw Duke beat Landon twice at 20 and unders and most people would pick Lilledahl over Spratley. We can and should beat Iowa in the next dual with them coming up next year. My point was putting down Iowa in my thinking makes no sense until we beat them. I think we will beat them in February with our current lineup.

Jax just started wrestling so is not ranked appropriately yet - in my opinion he's #1 at his weight so technically we would have 3 higher ranked wrestlers. Regardless, this is my opinion of an OSU vs PSU dual:

OSU would be a clear favorite at 133 - Jax and 141 - Vega

The following would have a solid chance of winning:
125 - Sprately
157 - Robideau
Hwt - Doucet

It wouldn't really surprise me to pull off another upset somewhere like 184 or 149.

Iowa wrestled way too defensively against PSU - that is something we would not do.

PSU has Blaze at 133, I wouldn't say Jax is a clear favorite, otherwise I agree with your other predictions.
