Pre snap check with sidelines that slow momentum

The high snaps that throw off timing

The dropped passes that hit guys in the hands

The refusal for QB to go under center inside the 3 yard line.

The getting up after a tackle and getting in a shoving match with defenders

Staying with a QB that couldn’t feel his arm

Conceding the game with 30 seconds left to play

The special teams

The defense coverage
2 of us covering 3 of them

The D-line and linebackers getting blocked and pushed around

And a piss poor home field crowd,

I think we have a great shot of a couple more wins this year.

Hahaha, well I give the defense a pass, we expected them to be vulnerable. I think they are probably maximizing, even if the end goal isn't great. That's just the reality.

Offense and special teams? Yeah we aren't operating at peak efficiency there. We are going to have to score to win.

That crowd was destined to be lackluster as soon as they announced 3 home games in a row, sandwiched between the home opener and the SEC opener. Time and temp took it down another notch.

So you are telling me that all the idiots who want to play a tougher schedule with more P5 teams (because it's better for the fans) are, in fact, idiots?

Yeah, Shoop not only lost 3 first rounders and entire dline - he’s also working without 2 (yesterday 3) of his top returning players. We all knew the defense was going to take a step back - and that was before we knew Gay & Autry would miss most of the season.

Wonder what he thinks of Joe’s decision to waste Autry on USM. That whole situation is Moorhead in a nutshell. Your top two centers get injured, and you’re third guy is a 17n defensive tackle - so now you have to move him to center for a game and waste one of Autry’s games because you didn’t plan ahead and have an emergency offensive lineman who could play center.

No way. That crowd yesterday was the worst I've seen since we expanded the stadium. It was horrific, and a little concerning.

I’ll go back farther than that, we had like a four year sellout streak under Mullen. Yesterday was the worst crowd since at least the Houston game in 2009 (cold rainy day in Mullen’s first year) and may have been smaller than that game. It’s possibly the worst crowd we’ve had since the Croom era.

Half empty stadiums are a great way to get a coach on the hot seat...

Also gonna get an AD and President on the hot seat, too. And that’s not a bad thing, at the moment.

The stadium was half full because our fans think Kansas State is Kansas and we were going to win by 4 TDs. They are a good team, and they had more fans in the Stadium than we did in the fourth quarter.

If that was Auburn our fans would have acted differently (maybe).

Yeah, real fans show up at games. Look at the Titans game today. It’s standing room only.***
At one point, the announcers even mentioned how it was at the moment the quietest NFL stadium he’s ever heard. Sadly, our fans didn’t want to sit in the heat for that game. The KSU fans all over wanted to take advantage of a game they could attend within close proximity. It was a recipe for disaster on that front.

It's 96 in Nashville, heat index 99. Might have been a degree or two hotter when they were playing. Their fans don't like to bake either.

Watching Alabama playing South Carolina, there were open spaces in that stadium, even before the game was decided by the end of the first quarter.

Football's popularity at all levels is falling. There aren't enough kids going out to play either due to safety concerns, the time it takes to be a serviceable player even at the high school level (it's now to the point you either work out, take a job, or concentrate on your academics), kids not wanting to go outside as much, and the rise in popularity of basketball and soccer when they do.

You look at the NFL crowds today. There were empty seats during the Dallas-Washington game. There's empty seats right now at the LA Coliseum. Needless to say, the games played in Miami, Nashville, and Jacksonville are veritable caverns. Time was, people had to be willed season tickets to NFL games from their wealthy grandparents. Now it's easy to get cheap tickets at several college and pro football stadiums.
