Other thoughts from yesterday (not the game itself)...

1) As said before, the atmosphere last night was unbelievable. It must be great to have multiple huge games like that a year with ESPN a-team and the works. I think we'll see more of those in the near future.

2) My weekly jumbotron complaints: Physics of Football sucks balls, get rid of it. I've always thought the fan polls were gay and always thought the questions
stupid and obtuse, but this week was even more embarassing. One of MSU's top all-time achievements is THIRD place in the CWS? Give me a break. The
Zatarain's crawfish thing is good and fun everytime.

3) Uniform's looked great. When they first unveiled them at the Barne's and Noble, I didn't like the all-maroon at all. But last night they looked badass.

4) I love the team talking **** before the game and before the half. We've got that swagger back. If this team starts winning, I think the ****-talking will go to ridiculous levels and we'll be one of the most disliked teams in the SEC, and I would love the hell out of that.

Yeah, I also wonder what the majority thinks about how we're using the video board.
Personally, I don't mind the Physics of Football, even though I can't hear it clearly, plus it's kind of ghey.
And while the questions give you something to do during timeouts, they are pretty stupid and embarrasing. Maybe they should make it a quiz or something.

Anyway, I think things have become too commercial. Byrne has the feeling of an NFL owner type, but I guess that's at least better than the alternative

..but everything else about it is. But hey I guess at least we get to laugh at the Oscar-worthy perfomances of the players.

i also hate the fact that on close plays that are called against us, they dont show every angle they have available to rile up the crowd and let mullen see if he should challenge or not.we have this huge board and its not being used even close to its potential. the live stats have gotten a little bit better, although i would like to see updates after every drive or every 2 drives. they need to show scores on the bottom screen during every timeout. there is no need to leave the down, distance and score up there for 2 min while we wait for the tv break to be over. they do it maybe once a half, but 2 to 3 times a quarter is way better. if you went to the auburn game, their production team did a good job, although they do use their main board for things other than video.

Go Green commercial. I was one of the last to leave Campus Saturday night, and the Junction was a landfill again. It is really sad that these clowns keep doing this.

My group can be one of the rowdiest on campus at times, but our drunk asses ALWAYS pick up around our tailgate before we leave.

I do think the university needs to be a little more proactive though. Those cardboard containers just don't cut it, and there aren't nearly enough of them.

I went to the Ole Miss/UAB game and there are hundreds of large plastic garbage cans in the grove provided by the university. You literally can't walk 15 yards without bumping into one. They are all red and blue. Wouldn't be hard for us to duplicate.

Everytime a replay was about to be played, an advertiser was shown. Which is okay; I understand having advertising; but the advertising was on there so long, by the time the replay started, the play on the field had started. Just needs some fine-tuning.....

i have to admit that when we were talking **** in both of those instances i was watching the guys bouncing up and down and thought that they were going to break into the DPR. that would have been super gay and i am glad we didn't do it. it would have looked like west side story out there.

another thing about the jumbotron, that thing is just damn ridiculous big. i know it isn't new for me to say it but it was cool seeing people in the bar i was drinking at in kansas react to the size of that monster. the bartender saw my MSU hat and came over and said "man that is the biggest 17ing TV on the planet." i agreed.

Why would we want a bunch of red and blue garbage cans all over the place? Seriously, you're right. The best incentive for people to throw their **** away instead of on the ground is to have trash cans nearby.

but I thought it was funny that it centered around protecting a QB's head (with the melon in the helmet) and Tebow had a concussion earlier this year.

The only thing I learned from the Physics of Football segments is that apparently Henig didn't wear shoulder pads.

I see where you're coming from, and if I was watching on TV or if I saw another team doing it, I would probably agree with you. But there was nothing weak about it for those of us in the stadium. I've never been more amped before a game than I was after that.

Then yours looks like a 32" in the court yard of three single wides arranged into the shape of a U with a couple of added on rooms placed on top the single wides.

Since you find it necessary to lurk a rival site and talk stadium smack......Your addition on top of the east side looks incomplete and just odd. The center piece of your stadium is the endzone. Which again, is odd for a football stadium. It will be interesting to see what y'all piece together in your north endzone when we add a first class addition to our north endzone.

No, you obviously did not stick around after the UAB game or any other game for that matter to see all those red and blue plastic trash cans merely sticking up out of the trash heap. All those trash cans do is help with the clean up after everybody leaves. Why people think it's OK to just throw all their crap on the ground and leave it there for someone else to pick up is beyond me...

"we are limited in that we are only allowed to review tapes that have been shown to the television audience, even if there is another replay we would like to see."

But it turns out they have a way around that. The officials in the booth have a direct line to the producer in the TV truck. "We can call down and ask if they maybe have a high end-zone shot that they might like to show their television audience." Relationships between the conference officials and the television networks is one of the keys to making the tool work.

Well, I thought maybe there was a technology issue.....maybe the replay ref didn't have all the replays as the networks. Well, I was wrong. In light of this information, it is obvious to me, that the SEC replay officials are as incompetent as Sylvester Croom coaching football.

we were doing our usual thing, jumping up and down on our own sideline while they played "put on for my city". of course, that song also always gets the other team jumping up and down. well, florida's team started doing that and moved toward our side of the field, in a taunting manner. not to be shown up at home, dixon (who else) and bumphis started moving toward midfield. the team followed.

i don't know what happened before halftime.

The game must be getting easier. Everyone that sits in your section has blue hair and I know that you were hitting the "Brown Water" pretty hard.

I was replying to the idea of showing the crowd "all available angles."

Can't do it.

One and done.
