Upperclsssmen are generally favored by coaches. More mature.
I know. It was more of a joke. Urb was right when he basically said excuses by new coaches are for losers. Good coaches usually come in and have success fast with whatever talent they have. They don't take a step back. Nebraska has always had enough talent to win 9 games under Riley and compete for the West division, but it hasn't happened for some reason.

We are very young in the two deep.

And the talent isn't there. The talent gap is a long way away. What's sad is there's so many Jr. Our OL has 4 Jrs. Seems when you think there's hope, we'll, they're gone.

We ended up number 42 last year. We're at 50 now. Currently not a top 4 round player on the roster. AGAIN.

i thought Riley won 9 games last season? Also finishing 2nd in the west and being 7 points away from winning it I would consider competing for the West division.

Hasn't Thomas played as well, along with the others already mentioned? And let's not forget that Jackson and Bootle are both RS Freshman and Eric Lee is a RS Soph. Speilman is a RS Freshman as well. You also have to figure, if the current recruiting class is maintained and adds Parsons, you have to figure that Moore, Bookie, and Parsons would play immediately. So we have some very young talent on the field now and in the future.

I really question the 9 win talent theory in 2016. Anyway, I'll be all for firing Riley if this season is bad. I was for canning Bo after his third season . I don't care about 9 wins. It's who you lose to and how you lose.

Really? His third year we were ranked top top 10 for a portion of it and should have pulled out a win in the conference championship game. If we didn't have to play Washington again in the bowl game, could have been a very successful year.

A good coach has his team prepared to beat a team they already handled earlier in the year. I can't believe you are actually claiming this as a reason the year wasn't as successful.

I agree with you. They should have been prepared to play them again. I also think if it was the same team not named Washington, we win that game. Our other losses that year were very close and could have been a great season.
