Let's face it, where you go in the draft is the most important thing your college career can determine, and that is where most of the money is for NFL hopefuls. Go in the first round and you can retire off your signing bonus if you don't go all MC Hammer with your money. Go in the late rounds and you better have your resume in order and hope your degree in General Studies is worth something. I know most of you know this stuff already, but I put it in a convenient form since all recruits read message boards. So where have OU quarterbacks gone in the draft? I'll list their QBs along with their college record and draft status.
Josh Heupel (20-5) - 6th round
Nate Hybl (20-3) - Undrafted
Jason White (27-4) - Undrafted
Rhett Bomar (8-3) - 5th round
Paul Thompson (11-4) - Undrafted
Now Mullen has not been corch here very long and Tyson Lee won't get drafted by an intramural team, but here's a look at QBs in which Mullen has had a huge part of developing.
Josh Harris - 6th round
Alex Smith (21-1) - 1st overall
Chris Leak - Undrafted
Tim Tebow - Who knows?
So on average, Mullen has better performance than Stoops. Keep in mind that Harris was at Bowling Green, not exactly known for football prowess. Tebow will probably go in round 3, but some team may pick him up earlier than that.
