You can talk all your want about how our coaches have to recruit better, but we have a big problem in our recruiting base. LSU just had better players than us last night. They were bigger stronger and faster. You look at their roster and most of there players are from Lousiana with Texas being next. We just can't match their depth of talent.

The whole reason for Dan's TSUN is that we have to share the talent in Mississippi with another SEC school plus another division one school from a small population base. He is trying to make kids think that there is only one option in Mississippi for football players. Unfortunately, it is an impossible task. Just imagine if there was only one division one football team in Mississippi. With the talent this state produces we are almost always stuck with getting 1/3 of it or maybe a bit more. If you could get all of it....

if you are not going to cheat, there is no approach. There will be kids who grew up following TSUN and there are kids who grew up following MSU. With equal offers, it is always going to split the base.

Football is not like Baseball in that there is not an area in this country where there is a regional advantage. Baseball we could recruit the north and bring kids to the sunny south where they would get more exposure and better competition. Football has plenty of equal opportunities much closer to home for those kids.

just don't know how realistic it is to expect that we're going to get ALL the best players in the state of Mississippi on a consistent basis, because of the very reasons you mention.
