Is we're still a little slow. Jameon is quick, but that doesn't really take the top off a coverage. I think thats that's the last piece missing at this point from a personnel perspective.

I agree, but it seems like we just have no identity. Sometimes we want to be a power team, sometimes we go with the jet sweep speed game, sometimes we decide to throw it all over the yard, etc. We use our smallest RB to be our every down back, we use our throwing QB to run, our running QB to throw, and our WR to take 4 of 10 handoffs. It confuses the **** out of me, and is probably why we can't get a rhythm for 4 quarters.

Although it isn't popular, in my opinion we need to scrap the 2 QB ********, put Dak in there with Josh Robinson and Ashton Shumpert, and get back to what we do best. It would be like running the Relffense except with better weapons at WR, TE, and QB. Bring in Perkins on 3rd down and other designed situations where we can get him involved in the passing game and out in space, but let JRob and Shump bruise it inside with Dak. Then play action becomes far more effective. We should be using Malcolm Johnson the way Ole miss uses Ingram, but instead we don't even throw ours the ball.

We just lack consistency and identity, and we don't allow our best players to get the ball and get into a rhythm before bringing in a line change at every position.

I don't disagree with you. I think it comes back to Mullen's general reluctance towards playing younger players over Srs. I know Chris Jones is playing quite a bit, but I don't think Mullen likes the message that sends to his team/program. Especially in regards to a RB and QB.

Jameon's biggest asset is juking people and making them miss. He really doesn't have great straight line speed. That's why I think we are misusing him by sending him on so many jet sweeps where you need speed to get around the edge. We need to concentrate on getting him the ball in space where he can maneuver around people.

1. We get few players in space. Usually Tubby. No RoJo or LDP. They don't call speed plays to get the right people on the edge.

2. We don't try to stretch the field on 2nd n short by going for the home run.

But they have made improvement by making Morrow a possession receiver and putting JRob with TR.

Jackie was hung up on playing seniors too. When Donte Walker was a freshman and sophomore we rarely saw him. Then he gained 50 pounds and got fat and slow, and he wouldn't take him out. And by then he was just sloughing around on the field. At least that's my memory of the situation.

There's no doubt that Mullen wants to play Tyler regardless, and I agree with that to an extent. Didn't he set a passing record for us last year? But Dak is the future of the team for the next 2-3 years. And I guess I don't think his passing is as bad as some others do. And it scares me that he's going to get injured badly if he keeps running so much.

He may also just appear to be quick since he's so small. But overall, I think he's an asset to the team. He just needs to learn how to not fumble, how to catch punts and kickoffs (he has to back up on virtually every punt), and let the ball go if it's inside the 10. It's not often that a kickoff that deep gets returned past the 25.

This is what I don't get. Then when we do want to stretch it or take the lid off some who would you throw it to?...............

If it's me then I either send Derunnya, RoJo, Fred Ross, or Chappelle deep. When you sign a juco or burn a frosh redshirt you better use them somewhere. I don't have the faintest idea why we don't or when we do we use someone who doesn't have that skill. I have seen chappelle play lots, and the kid was born for a deep ball, same thing with Derunnya. What corner can out jump a guy 6'5" 220 with a large vertical and long arms? Nobody that's who.

If you hit one it opens up Malcolm in the middle or 12-15 yard crossing routes all day, and basically lots of underneath stuff. Even if you just miss the deep ball it makes the FS think on every play action from then on and his first moves are going to be ---> back.

I just don't understand why Holloway isn't returning punts/kicks. I wish they'd run a sweep and throw a screen pass to him a couple of times a game. This kid has big time speed and quickness

Don't get me wrong, he's done a pretty good job I just wish holloway was able to get the ball in his hands more often. Maybe return a couple

It has to be Derunnya. Hopefully next year his technique will have improved enough to let him get off the line better. That'll allow him to get out and stride more on deep balls rather than chicken fighting down the field.

That would be huge because it would get a Safety out of the box and open things up for Malcom and Jameon's option routes underneath.

We are dead 17'n last in punt return yards in the nation. Lewis has 2 yards on 7 punt returns, with a long of 3 yards. Northwestern has more return yards than us an they've returned 1 punt this year. We're on pace to have the fewest punt return yards since Nevada had 3 in 2009.

I like his speed but he is just too damn small and frail. There has been a few hits on him this year where I thought he literally may get killed. He scares me because it seems like it would be easy to rip the ball away from him

He did. For us.

A record that would have been broken by 68 QBs in FBS last year, accounting for 55% of every starting QB out there. Anotherwords, it's a very, very hollow record...

Didn't know that ... doesn't sound very impressive that way. We must have had terrible passing QBs all the way back to Genesis.

Our biggest problem is when we find something that works we never go back to it. Wilson deep, Holloway in space or deep, Shumpert are all players that we had success with and have since ignored. How stupid is that? It'd be one thing if we kept trying them but since they scored or had dominate plays we have just never tried them again basically. It's 17ing retarded over thinking by Mullen.
