On the potential for an 11-1MSU team making the playoff....

"That would be absolutely terrible for college football"

Gotta love for this guy*

Kanell say Egg Bowl best chance for an upset. He missed the elephant in the room. Or was that a gator?**

I believe he also referred to it as us "back dooring our way into the playoffs" since we wouldn't have won our conference. He said that if you are one of the 4 best teams then you have to be good enough to win your own conference.... I guess that means GA Tech will be one of the 4 after they beat FSU...

Kanell sounded ridiculous on Mike and Mike this morning

First he said the committee is focusing too much on analytics and not enough about winning games. Said MSU losing and only dropping to #4 devalued the regular season because you're not dropping out of the playoff if you lose a game. Mike and Mike disagreed and said it's not like we are still ahead of undefeated teams, and the committee has to look at stuff, such as analytics to separate the one loss teams from each other and rank them accordingly. That argument shot down, Kanell then said people are focusing too much on the "eye test" (obviously saying this because FSU is failing the eye test) and said at the beginning of the season Oklahoma was considered one of the best teams in the country by the "eye test". Mike and Mike once again shot that down saying nobody would look at Oklahoma and say that now because Oklahoma has lost 3 games and got blown out by Baylor. Thoroughly defeated, Kanell then went into a corner and sucked his thumb.

Take the top 10 engineering graduates at MIT. Now take the top 10 engineering graduates at Ole Miss. Are you telling me that the #2 guy at MIT can't be better than the #1 guy at UM?

It's funny he said that about the eye test when earlier in the season he had Baylor in his top 4 because of the eye test. What a clown.

Kanell is a total fool. His Criminoles would have lost at least 4 games playing State's schedule. Thankfully we won't hear anything more out of him after Florida beats F$U

I really wish that the standings stayed just as they are right now

I would love to beat the hell out of bama and then I would wish that FSU beat Oregon. I would love to beat the hell out of the 'establishment' teams

To be fair...

Take the top 10 engineering graduates at MIT. Now take the top 10 engineering graduates at Ole Miss. Are you telling me that the #2 guy at MIT can't be better than the #1 guy at UM?

Your argument assumes that Mississippi has 10 students enrolled in its engineering program.

Andy Staples on PAAAWWWWLLL say that Bama losing to Auburn would hurt State's chances of getting in the playoffs. Not because of the chance of losing the SECCG, but people would find out how weak the SEC West really is.

Where do they find these people?

My beef is always with the 'top 10' wins. Someone help me to understand how many wins over a top 10 team (at any point) that TCU, Baylor and Ohio State have and then lets see where they rank next to ours.

Ohio State gets to count Michigan State.
TCU gets Oklahoma, Baylor as a loss, and Kstate?
Baylor gets Oklahoma, TCU.

Now, go ahead and count that against LSU, Auburn, aTm, Alabama and Ole Miss.

However you want to slice it, the comparison is moot.

I love how folks seem to be irritated that MSU is the only team to have lost while not falling out of the Top 4 the following week, yet they want to completely ignore the big difference in our situation being that our one loss came after starting the season 9-0 in the toughest division in college football. That's a pretty significant difference as compared to teams that dropped a game before they even reached the midpoint of the season.

Above all that, we're a team that the stats clearly favor and our one loss...

1) came against the #1 team in the country
2) it was on the road
3) oh, and we beat the so called expert Vegas spread

If someone out there thinks that another team is more deserving than State at this point, that's fine, but I really don't have a clue as to how people could look at this resume and act completely baffled as to how we'd still be in the Top 4 at this point in the season.

He and Trevor Matich have both said that. They want to see the 4 best teams from around the country which obviously is an idiotic viewpoint.

LOL, so they only want the best 4 teams if they are from around the country. However, if they are both from the SEC, they don't want the best teams?

These guys are running out of company lines. They have been preaching the same stuff for so long that now it's been picked apart and they have contradicted themselves.

Why does anyone care what this guy has to say? He's building a career off being a self described troll. To even bring up his name to refute his absurd statements is what he wants. To me I view him as the octomom or jersey shore reality star. He'll literally do or say anything just to keep his name in the limelight.

Danny K = Merrill Hodge. If they didn't have these guys no one would watch these shows because it would just be Jon Gruden talking about how awesome everyone is.
