Plain and simple, our D is very bad. Some of the plays we have given up appear to be poorly coached and poor effort. Not a good combination.

When #21 can't make a routine tackle, something is wrong. The play at the 12 yard line against Jax is a prime example of poor coaching and poor effort.

Could be. You also see effort start to wane when players feel they are not being put in position to succeed.

Not sure, but I would say it's a confidence deal. We don't seem like a confident bunch out there. And we're not confident, you play slower. You don't do things you were trained to do bc you are not either sure of yourself, or not sure of the training. Take Blanton for example. Had a bad day overall. But kept fighting until the last play. And thank God he did. That was a high level play right there. To immediately read that RB trying to slip out the back door, fight through the traffic, and be there at the exact timing to make a play. Just a terrific play. Also, gotta credit the pressure too. Too many guys going balls out on that play for dudes to be checking out. Just my opinion though.

I am shocked at the poor play of the db especially since we had two freshman who played so well last year. They got a lot of recognition. Poor coverage, poor tackling among other things. How did the d back field go down so fast?? Also special teams gave us tremendous play last year. This year pretty much a non factor.

The Florida game proved what was known for some time by the fan base. When you blow a ten point lead at home to an SEC rival in the fourth quarter, the so-called writing is already on the wall. It is therefore one of two main problems: 1) *A lack of talent and/or motivation on the part of the players to get better; 2) The lack of accountable recruting evaluations coupled with player development on the part of the coaching staff once they arrive on campus. The coaches themselves lack the skill sets necessary to develop and motivate players.

Many stories over the years of "Three-Star" players out of high school that had great careers in college and the NFL.
