Our Front 7 is good enough to win this game for us

People are forgetting just how good our front 7 is. It's how we used to feel when our ****** to average offense would play against LSU and Bama and Florida one year. We couldn't really getting a push with our O-line against their D-line and then they had those awesome big, fast LBs to fill the holes. Well folks we have that kind of talent in our front 7 this year. Not saying it's better than those teams in their prime in the past few years, but we have excellent NFL talent all over at DE,DT, and LB. Bring down Market some to help out and stuff this LSU run. Remember they couldn't run the ball on Wisconsin and I hope our front 7 is better than theirs. If we can put the game in Jennings hands, we win this one.

On the flip side, it will be no easy task for our offense mainly because of the O-line being our weak link and a disappointment so far. If we can keep their D honest with throwing down field a few times, get Dak in some space running the ball with the zone read and QB power runs and scrambling, I think we can generate enough offense to win this one. I think our WR are good enough to get open for Dak quick enough for him to avoid sacks. And even if the pocket does break down at times, Dak can still make a lot of big plays outta the pocket and running. I think Dak may get a few chances to make some big plays getting flushed outta the pocket since they definitely will get pressure on him at times. I think we generate enough offense to win a 21-20 type game.

I agree about the Front 7. They're salty.

I'm afraid Dak is going to throw some interceptions this Saturday. He's averaging 2 or 3 "WTF" throws a game. I think LSU's DBs are going to come down with some of those if that's the case this week.

MUST. WIN. TURNOVER. BATTLE.

It is completely acceptable to punt the football in games like this.

I think this is going to be a close, low-scoring game. I don't think either team is going to be able to block the other's defensive front 7.

LSU usually has a guy who hasn't proven much to have a breakout game. This time it could be Fournette.

If it's going to happen, my money is on Malachi Dupre. Their WR's are young and underrated. Our secondary must be better, even against a QB that I don't think is all that good.

Lsu is giving up 142 yds/game which is #53 in the country.

We're averaging 260 yds/game rushing which is #16 in the country.

I'll be very disappointed if we can't run the ball

Getting burned on the long ball scares me. It feels like we always keep it close against LSU in the first half, but they always seem score off a turnover in the last two minutes...

Great point. If there is one thing we are capable of, it is giving someone from LSU year in and year out their career game. I still have nightmares thinking about Mettenberger and ODB, Jr running all over the field like roaches after someone turns the light on. We have got to play 11 on 11 football and not let one player or two beat us this year.

I agree. This LSU DL isn't nearly as talented as some of the ones in the past, and that huge DT has a bummed bicep. I was listening to LSU radio back in August and one of the announcers said something like "In the past, I've seen LSU starting two or three NFL DL. This year, I'm not sure there are two or three on the roster".

Wisconsin went for 268 yards on the ground against them. I'll be very disappointed if we don't break 150.

Last year was the first year since the 90s

that I felt like we matched up with LSU on the offensive and defensive lines. By "match up", I mean that we held our own. We lost last year's game because lack of talent at the skill positions, both DB and WR. People forget the incredible game that their QBs and receivers had.

It will definately be an interesting game. I know you guys have a very good front 7, and have not given up much on the ground but you have also not come close to facing LSU's O-Line either. They are a veteran group and will get their yards, maybe not from the very start of the game but they will end up being able to rush the ball. Conversely Miss States passing defense is ranked #111 in the country that will be there to exploit if LSU chooses to do so, just depends on how hard heade Les will be in trying to run against 8 in the box.

On the other side of the ball, LSU's secondary may be one of the best I have seen there and thats saying alot. Their weakness is right up the middle at their middle linebacker # 31, if they put # 52 in the game their then it is a different story. LSU's wide revieving corp's is you but very very talented. With all that being said I expect LSU to win because it is a night game at home and the sec opener. I do think it will be a tight game till the last 5 or 6 minutes. Good luck to you guys, I have made a couple of trips to Starksville and really Loved the hospitalaity of you guys!! Good Luck Saturday!

We cant pick and choose which stats to throw out, but I think it is safe to say that to this point LSU has played a tougher schedule.

They've played the best team for sure, the weakest, and one bout the same as we have
