Why cant you 17'ing morons ever acknowledge that our idiot 17'ing coach cant coach a lick of offense if he had to?

Againstdecent teams, we shoot poorly- meaning we arent able to get good shots. We arent 17'ing playing Valley and Centenary anymore

yep, athletic teams that can defend give us problems b/c:

1) we don't run any offensive plays to open guys up
2) We have no post offense
3) Ravern, Barry and Benock all struggle to get around athletic defenders and can't punish guys for aggressive defense. Bost and Turner are the only guys fast enough to get around guys off the dribble.

No wait, he gave up a backdoor dunk instead!

That is the trend that I see but you hang on to those percentages there.

1. Install the flex offense. It allows for more screening away from the ball, and also would help our guards penetrate more due to its 2-high, 3 low set. You can also run a ton of special 3 point plays out of it to get open 3's.

2. Install a couple of plays for Ravern like we used to do for 00. Run his defender through about 6-7 screens every 3rd trip to just wear the guy the 17 out.

3.When setting ballscreens, Let Kodi and Swat set a double at the top of the key, put Randy and Ravern in the corners. Whichever screener Bost comes off of, they roll to the basket when the defender helps, the other stays high for a high-low situation for the defense. Should Ravern's or Randy's defender try and sneak in, kick it to the corner for an open 3....we would wear teams out with that...Bulls used to do this alot with Jordan, I used it alot when I coached. Great play, especially when you have good 3 point shooters...

How many more solutions do you want?

With the multiple screens and players with our shooting abilities its hard to stop even if you know its coming. Would lead to much better looks from the perimeter and better looks on the block. Its also much harder on the defense to control the boards when the offense is in constant motion

...we would have to learn how to actually set screens. Even the ball screens we set now are ****** and half-assed.

once we are in the "screening stance." Of course, you can move as much as you like BEFORE the screen. Once you make contact you have to stop moving.

...you know they're doing it the way they're taught to do it. For a screen to be effective, it takes two guys. The first guy has to plant and hold, and the second guy has to rub off. Our screeners plant but don't hold, and if they do, the ballhandler leaves enough space for the defender to get around the screener.

We've always done this under Stans. Even Roberts set screens like that. Stans is a sacred cow to a lot of folks here, but this is just one example of where his teams are consistently deficient. Why is it that not everyone sees it?

Did you see how many timeouts we had to take as they doubled Bost. I don't know basketball, but you have to believe you could have come up with something better than what we were doing. That set the tone for our loss today!
