Hey Todd is Demarcus Henderson that over rated? I know about last year for Henderson, but Cohen obviously doesn't trust him enough to even play him for a half inning. I'm just confused why the double switch for Frost-Renfroe and Stark-Henderson never happened. This is my first post so take it easy but it seems like we are a middle infielder away from being relatively solid at the plate and in the field. I've been to 4 games and noticed Henderson's only start was in RF vs. MVSU ( I didn't attend although I know he picked up an error) but I haven't seen anything from Frost or Britton to secure the job.

and I have ran over and over this in my head, why he would allow frost to hit with the runners on the corners in the b8 with 1 out and frazier behind him

I am not sure that is the instance you are talking about but this is the instance I am about to try to explain...

I see no way frazier will be leading off during SEC play, so by Cohen playing him there is just to get him as many ab as possible before SEC play. Britton is really struggling at the plate so far, so Frost was inserted ...Frost can't hit for ****, but he was ok this weekend ...only thing I can come up with was Cohen was just giving Frazier and Frost an opportunity, needless to say they both failed ...doubt that will happen again in SEC play

We are better than Memphis ...listening to the postgame it is almost like Cohen didn't mind losing the game because of how ****** we played at the beginning of the game and he wanted to chew *** ...maybe he thinks the team would respond better if they lost, maybe he thought the two could get it done ...maybe it is game 8 in a season where we replaced 7 offensive position and he simply is giving his players opportunities ...it looked like a test, to me

I couldn't believe Cohen didn't pinch hit for Frost in the 8th. That was just an awful awful decision. Unless you were gonna try a suicide squeeze, you don't need a guy who hits below .200 up there with the game on the line.

maybe something was going on with how memphis was defending that caused cohen to let frost swing away. The 17up that led to several other 17ups was no outs men on 1st and 2nd and stark bunts hard back to the pitcher and they get the lead runner. Britton comes up and misses a hit and run sign and gets the runner thrown out at third and cohen yanks him b/c he missed the sign. That gets frost in the game. The bottom line is that once again this year, Cohen is going to look crazy quite often b/c we are going to have to manufacture runs and he will be doing some strange looking stuff.

Britton, who is a true freshman just getting his feet wet at the plate, is still hitting 30 points higher than Frost (.231 to .200). Absolutely no legitimate reason to insert Frost for Britton if that's what was done. Cohen already knows Frost can't hit, at least for Britton there is hope.

Henderson back at SS. I'd like to keep Frazier at 2B, his true position. The more he flips back and forth, the more potential errors he may make. Not sure why Stark and Henderson were moved to OF, but they clearly aren't our best options there. I think Renfroe/Bradford/Woodruff are easily the future there for at least this year and next.

I am hoping that Nick Flair (who coaches say is the most talented player on our team) is the long term answer at SS (he started for 4 years there in HS). He's hurt, but I think they may have himat 3B (not 100% sure).

So, to answer your question, I think Frost is playing because he's good defensively, and maybe we're just trying to bridge the gap this year for someone else to take over. Britton's pretty damn good at practice though.

Stark should be on the mound.
