Our offense last night looked like . . .

A shotgun version of the Georgia tech option, we ran the same two back set with a little variation. With a bye week, we couldn't have one trick play???? Can't decide if our wide receivers are that bad or relf.

Sitting in the comfort of my chair it is clear to me Relf is not a passing quarterback. Just a very inconsistent passer. The receivers are not great, but it is not like they are having balls placed on the numbers either.

I'd argue there are very few passing attacks accross all of NCAA football that is less intimidating as ours.</p>

The spread-Croom is more effective at running than the Croom-Coast. But still not effective enough. And the passing game looks exactly the same.

WTF is with comparing this offense to anything related to Croom and thinking that now that we're at 7 wins, we should say 17 the rest of the games and see if we can get TR ready for next year?

We have a pretty good offense considering the lack of talent. We've won 7 games with a tight end playing qb and, with Nix at Ole Miss, have a damn good chance of winning 8. What part of that, other than not having an SEC ready qb (which is for the most part Crooms' fault), sounds anything like Crooms. No, we're not a top tier SEC school yet, but it really does take talent to be a top tier SEC school. Coaching alone doesn't get you there. And since we don't have the talent to be top tier yet, I for one am perfectly happy for our coaching staff toput together a game plan that allows usa chance to win 8 games and a chance to go to peach or gator if the SEC gets two teams in BCS bowls? Would you really rather be a six win team with Tyler Russell?
