I'm not George W. Bush, so I can't look in his eyes and know his soul, but Mullen just doesn't seem like somebody on an ego trip looking for his next gig. There is no doubt we need to get him to at least Croom's pay level at season's end. What was that, $2million? Beyond that, how much is somebody going to throw at him? Does he leave for 2.5 or 3 to a program that will need rebuilding? If he's a good coach and a savvy recruiter, he can win just as easy here as anywhere else. He's in a position where most seasons he can go 7-1 in conference play and essentially be in a 2-game playoff for the NC. Where else can you say that? (yes, I have MSU coach and NC in the same sentence--I have the AC set on 65 to combat the wool)
I think we are a lot more likely to lose assistants, maybe not this year, but next. Diaz needs a raise.
